I've had this for more than a year now and I'm so happy with it I'm considering getting another one. It ain't cheap but if you look at the dollar to mA ratio, it isn't that expensive. (All I'm saying is, other power units offer less current for the same money - just check how many units will provide 300 mA per output and then check how much they cost compared to the G-LAB.) It can also be argued that it is one of the more versatile units out there with two outs that can change polarity and the option to draw 12, 15 or 18V if needed. What else can be said? It is built to last, comes with the mandatory collection of cables and delivers - the outputs are all isolated and, therefore, quiet. Did I mention? It comes with a manual as well. In slightly broken English, that piece of light reading teaches you how to assemble your own cables if you want to change polarity or voltage. Strongly recommended.
Okay, so this is an expensive power supply. It has great build quality and really feels every penny/cent the product it should be. It works great, but my first unit failed for no apparent reason after 7 months usage. The "power fail" light just came on one morning. What surprised me is that there is no mention in the manual, just what "power fail" means. I tested all my FX and they were all fine, so that was a blessing... so it did protect them in this instance by the look of it. GOOD NEWS... i returned the unit to Thomann and within a week they had returned a brand new unit to me without any problem at all. Really impressed and happy to come back here for great service. I have since bought a cheaper backup unit, just in case this goes pop again... but others have had many years good service from it, so maybe mine was just faulty.
There are a heap of different power supplies out there however I find this one to be right up there. I have been using it for 2 years now and I haven't had any issues with it and it still has plenty of power. The biggest pedal I use it the Boss dd20 which is 250ma and its as quiet as a daisy. I also run another 5 pedals of it at any one time and have the unit attached to a pedal board which has seen some extensive traveling and plenty of bumps and knocks. I haven't had any trouble with it. The Pedals run silent and my A class valve amp loves it.
This box is brilliant. I use 6 boss pedals that I previously used to chain together in a pedal board. I decided to rack mount all of it and so came to this product when I needed rack mounted power. and no silly daisy chaining.
You can get a lot of power noise generally with wires crossing over the shop, but this thing helped a lot in dampening that noise to nothing.
It comes with cables of different lengths, but you can buy additional cables if you need varying lengths.
Comes with a power plug too, to power it. Can't say much more than that, it's a power supply, it doesn't sing and dance, it provides power and silently, which is all I want it to do!!
