Solved all my problems :)
TheMightyAtom, 28.09.2018
I use this for live acoustic playing together with an Epiphone EJ-200CE.

I first became aware of the Aura technology from demos of very expensive Martins. Seemed like a great way to get condenser mic sound on a stage, without a mic.

Does exactly what is says on the tin, and more. From looking at YouTube reviews, I was expecting to find one tone that matched the guitar, and I did that (Gibson J200), but experimenting I found many other very usable tones from otherwise unrelated guitar body types.

When boosting the bass, which is one of the main effects of this pedal, I did experience feedback, which the feedback eliminator dealt with painlessly and effectively.

So I'm happy to have the sound of a much more expensive guitar, mic'ed with even more expensive microphones, and with no feedback, except on the occasions I want it :)

I'd say if you're looking for a great live sound, consider investing less on the actual guitar (the tone not being fully captured by the piezo anyway) and add one of these beauties to your rig. The combination of compressor, EQ, feedback suppression and the amazing AURA guitar images in one pedal is superb, and almost half the price of building *just the AURA* into your guitar.
I only use the tuner as a mute button, preferring the EJ-200CE's onboard tuner.

Acoustic microphone clarity in a stomp box!
Phil3994, 16.05.2016
I was not really convinced that this gadget would help me get a more realistic acoustic sound from my Godin electric Oud.. but even without an exact instrument match to any of the 128 pre-set images I still was able to find an acoustic image that worked really well by using the Image Wizard section on the Fishman image download website.. which gives you a choice of various body shape/size, top and bottom tone wood options etc. to select a choice of images that have tonal characteristics similar to your own unlisted instrument.

It takes quite a while to go through the image choices available, but if you have the patience, clean ears and a bit of luck your acoustic instrument sound could be transformed from a clippy standard undersaddle pickup tone to a much richer and warmer acoustic quality tone.

The other features on the Spectrum DI are all very useable and of a high quality, plus a great DI out signal!

You will need to have patience and allow sufficient time to explore this unit in order to get satisfactory and pleasing results. The EQ section is straight forward enough and the compressor is a very useful addition that not only adds the advantages of compression, but also colours the overall tone leading to EVEN MORE tonal options.

But the heart of this pre-amp is the 16 position selector and blend control.

The first thing to bear in mind is that only a few of the available tone selections will suit your particular instrument and that these will generally be found within the body type that matches your guitar.

Having said that, I found the most pleasing results for my jumbo size Gretsch White Falcon Rancher in the Dreadnought range.

The second important thing is that the Blend control is very potent and rarely has to be set more than 11 o'clock. Any more than this and the tone can take on an unpleasant electronic edge.

All in all, if you are prepared to dedicate some time toward understanding it, this is a powerful tool that can dramatically improve the sound of your piezo pickup equipped guitar.

The Aura Spectrum is Fantastic
RaySee, 06.08.2018
I've had mine for years now, played uncountable shows, and when I bring my acoustics, the Aura tags along. With the XLR out, you dont need a DI, the compressor is perfectly reactive, and the voicing options are basically endless - I've only ever set my customs voicings once, and I'm happy with all of them!

The pedal, as well as the software, is VERY easy to use.

One thing that DOES happen is that the knobs are coming loose.
