Fender Squier Classic Vibe Tele 50's

Daniel7436, 04.02.2015
Fender Squier Classic Vibe Tele 50's - A superb Tele in a beautiful Vintage Blonde finish. Unusually it uses pine for the body, as Leo Fender did on the prototype Esquires, which is lightweight and when coupled with the custom Alnico 3 pickups (one is RWRP for hum cancelling in the middle position) results in clear note separation even when distorted, strong midrange dynamic response and plenty of solo high-end bite. The wood allows plenty of sustain to what is a distinctive Telecaster twang, comparing to models 2 to 3 times more expensive. It is defintely a large step up from the Affinity range from Squier for not much more and therefore an absolute bargain, one of my favourite guitars.

The neck is a maple modern 'C' shaped neck w/ rosewood skunkstripe, black dots and 22 medium frets and came with no sharp edges on the frets. It has a 25.5" (648mm) scale, a 1.625" (41.2mm) nut width and a pretty thick laquer which you might want to rub down with some fine meshpaper or an abrasive cleaning pad (the ones you use to wash the dished with) for a more satin finish.

Both the Vintage Modified and the Classic Vibe series guitars from Squier are SUPERB value-for-your-money. I love mine.

A really very nice telecaster

MickS, 05.02.2015
I have owned telecasters before but never tried a Squier. I have owned two Squier guitars and have been impressed by the quality. Having seen the Squier Classic Vibe Tele 50's get rave reviews a few of years ago I decided to look at the current availability and price. I realised that prices must have risen in the past two years so I was not surprised when UK dealers were asking almost £320. I turned to my old friends at Thomann where I have had good service and good prices in the past. I was amazed that I could get the same Squier Classic Vibe Tele 50's for less than £260. I know the Euro/Pound exchange rate is very good at the moment but even so the price is very very good. Without further ado I was ordering the guitar. I ordered it on a Sunday evening so I did not expect it to be sent out until late on the Monday. Imagine my surprise when it arrived at my home in Yorkshire UK on the Thursday. Great service - again. I love the tracking info too.
The guitar was really well packed and in pristine condition when I opened the box. I let it warm up for a while to let it acclimatise. Wow! the set up is spot on, no adjustment needed. The neck is as straight as an arrow and the action is just right - not too high, not too low. The finish on the guitar is superb - my wife took one look at it and said how nice it looked - I replied "Like you darling a natural blonde!" What am I like??!!
Before I plugged the guitar in I gave it a try to see how it sounded without amplification, it sounded good 'n' woody. Plugged in it really comes to life with a range of sounds and tones good enough for any type of music. I tried all combinations of pickup settings and tone settings. The bridge pickup gives out that real country twang and the neck pickup, with tone backed off, is very jazzy. It is as the reviews say, a real tele with a real tele feel and real tele sounds. At the full UK price it would be a bargain but at Thomann's price - well it's a gift. Great guitar and again great service. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a telecaster to try the Squier Classic Vibe Tele 50's
