Incredible value for money

THORta, 29.04.2018
Incredibly well built guitar for the money. At this price range would be expecting a block of cheese with some cheese strings but this is far from that. I would say it's giggable!

nice for the price

Nicolas6636, 30.07.2018
It's a nice guitar to start. Very good value for money, but do not expect to ride in ferrari when you pay the price of a 2 hp.

So the positives:
- the weight. She is super light, mine weighs 2.950 Kg (200g less than my Epiphone SG), and well balanced.
- She has a nice mouth, well that's totally subjective. But the color imperial blue is very pretty, there are as many glitter everywhere mixed with blue, it's light but it's super pretty.
- It is very (too) easy to use, the three usual microphones positions, a volume, a tone and that's all.
- The sound is not too bad in the clear, rather neutral.
- the strings are super soft (9-42), and with a flat handle radius 12 "on a short tuning fork bend is really the top.
- The bridge is very correct, the strings are not through, but there is still sustain.

After the negative points:
- I love the flat sleeves, it's special, it changes the usual radius 9.5 "fender, but for the barred up it's weird when you're not used, must love. is not top top, on mine the rope of the frieze on the whole length of the neck if you attack a little strong. And in the 12th case the action is high enough, it's playable, it's good for a beginner, but must not be demanding on that side (when you look at the handle on the slice it's a little scary) After the raw wood month I kiffe, I think it slips much better than when it is varnished or painted, so this is the top.
On the other hand the laurel touch you feel that it is much worse than the rosewood (pau fero I do not know I have not tried yet), the touch scratches when you make a bend, it's annoying at first and very weird next to the rosewood or the bare maple neck it slides like on an ice rink. Aesthetically it's a little clear and I feel that at the bottom of the handle there is a small hole in the handle that has been filled, but it's flat to the touch.
- The mechanics are less worse than I thought, they respond not too bad, but the tuning is a nightmare. How to explain ... the hollow part in which the rope is lodged is too small compared to the other cylindrical part, so when you start turning the mechanism after placing your rope, the rope stays on the cylindrical part and do not put yourself in the hollow part, you have to push it in as you turn the mechanics and it's really painful and tedious. As soon as I can I change them for staged fender mechanics. There you see that the treble ropes go from high, even if there are still two ropes guides.
- After there are lots of little things that are not much in themselves, but you see that it's entry-level. The microphone selector for example, I do not know if it's done on purpose but it does not work right up and down or from right to left but diagonally, kind side northeast for the neck pickup and southwest for the bridge pickup (when you watch your guitar right in front of you).
And the protection plastics of the pickguard are put before the hardware, suddenly you would have to unscrew to remove the plastic, or tear and leave a piece in it, same for the selector where there you see that there are pieces of plastic protruding.

In terms of sound, do not expect the moon. Clearly it's ok without being extraordinary. In saturated it is a little rough. Personally I feel that the neck pickup is better and the bridge pickup is missing a little bit of potatoes, but it's hard to evaluate because it's not terrible terrible pickups. It's good for grunge, or indie rock. After playing with the volume you have the opportunity to have a little less mushy sounds if you do not thoroughly, but I think I will change the pickups with a split single / double for more versatility and better sound .
I think I'll change to ropes a little bigger like 10-46, because it's still too soft for me and the mid-acute string out of the neck if you get excited a little and you do not pay attention .
But it is clear that it deserves a luthier setting. If I could buy a good handle, but in short tuning radius 12 "is almost impossible to find without it costs the eyes of the head.

In the end I would say that it is a guitar more than correct for the price and I recommend it for beginners who have not much money. Just the weight and pitch for those who have little fingers is the best. After the sound ... do not ask too much. I think that with a change of microphone, then mechanics then, it can be a nice guitar. After I'm not sure that the basswood body makes a huge difference compared to the alder models more expensive, given the small thickness of the beast.
