Fender Squier Affinity LH BSB B-Stock

Slight trace of use

Left Hand Electric Guitar

Originally, Squier was the only manufacturer of inexpensive alternatives to Fender models with the original look. They had and have a very good reputation and even professionals weren't ashamed to be seen with a Squier. Since Fender also started offering less expensive models (made in Mexico), Squier has begun selling the truly cheap Fender models. These are real, viable beginners' guitars - nothing more, but definitely nothing less!

The Squier Affinity LH is a left-handed model and sounds much like its archetype with its solid agathis wood body and the 3 Strat-style pickups, while its vintage-style tremolo (though it should really called a vibrato... but everybody knows that) offers a wonderful whammy sound. What more could a budding guitar hero need?

Crafted in China under fender supervision

Hendrik T., 12.11.2009
What have we here? A left-handed guitar with a large headstock for a low price from Squier. Ok, a Squier is then almost a Fender Strat right?

To the advantages of the guitar from my personal point of view as follows: The jewel of this (beginner?) Guitar is the beautifully crafted neck. That's really done excellently. Also the fingerboard is well done. In the processing of the frets, however, less care is used in China. Although the Bunddrähtchen are polished (in this price segment, yes, well), but at the end of the production probably just everything supernatant with a machine sanded. This results in the last two frets of my copy a bit flat edition of the strings. Well. It's just better to do so than to edit it by hand. The narrow neck is great in the hand. The body is still made of a sound wood, in my opinion, but that is Limba. (Of course, the shaping is 1: 1 Fender.) On which one has mounted the cheapest single-layer pickguard where there. Oh, and the simplest tremolo sheet. However, I can not say anything against it (I'm not a fan of Floyd Rose systems). Discreet tremolo use al la Beck is nice to do with it. With good settings, dive bombs are not a problem without detuning. Speaking of detuning: It takes a little practice with the Fender factory strings (who knows how old they are) to keep the mood. But that will be with new strings. Mechanics you have to adjust a bit here and there. Of course, the saddle is made of plastic.

sound:
The guitar sounds really amazingly stratig. And she sings and rolls as I wished. Class. Despite the simple pickups that I thought I'd have to trade. But they stay in there for the first time. Are also low noise and completely usable for tube amp and mixer.
For me, feeling is crucial. I have an old Fender Tele. The narrow neck and the thin frets here convey a similar vibe: The fight for the sound: If he comes but then right!

My conclusion: If you can already play the guitar and you are willing to accept one or the other drawback you will get an acceptable guitar for the gig and the rehearsal room. Personally, I personally shy away from spending money on big names anyway. I'd rather invest in pickups again, or if the old one has turned into a new tremolo. In the neck would be even in 10 years, a Bundstäbchentausch still worthwhile. I would like to recommend the guitar. It is also ideal for a conversion in the Hendrix style. You can tell that Squier does not make any copy of Strat. Whether the pc is to make everything in China and how to buy I leave it a question. Cheap guitar!
