I use this telly in a rock band with and orange tiny terror and they make a good pair. The guitar is very simple and looks to be made to last. It is quite heavy though but some might like that and some not. Overall the guitar plays good, the sound is on point and it offers a lot in terms of creating your own sound with the pickup height and the action. The lacquer is a quite slippy and some might find it a little strange at first if they are not used to it. I think it works better with a heavier set of strings, but that is personal preference.
The lacquer on the body is the only thing I don't really like because it is basically a plastic cover over the wood and it cracks not scratches
This guitar looks great, classic looking butterscotch finish with nice grain. The modern C neck is quite thin, so if you want a "baseball bat", this isn't it. Fretwork was good and set-up was OK staight out of the box.
The gloss finish on the neck might get a bit sticky if you have sweaty hands or there's a lot of moisture. I did sand down the back of the neck and the fretboard with fine grit sandpaper to make it smooth as ice. Plays great.
The sounds are classic telecaster sounds, as you'd expect. The neck is warm but has a bright top end, very nice. The bridge pickup didn't sound as good. It has the twang, but the output is kinda low and there's very little bottom end to it. I might swap it for something hotter.
Overall I'm happy with it and if you want well built, classic telecaster with excellent price/quality ratio, I can recommend this.
A well finished guitar which I tend to play more than my others now. I like the action and the sound. I like the retro look but dread breaking a string. WHY do they have to copy the vintage tuning heads? There is an art to changing strings with these. I would have accepted some of the modern technology
Absolutely awesome instrument...a little Tone monster! Gigs happily with my 30 YO USA Strat and Les Paul Standard. Has a unique tone all of it's own - wouldn't be without it. Minor hardware glitches but easily remedied.
