Love the sound of this amp

Just got this little beauty and it sounds great! I wanted Fender clean tone and definition in a small package. I play funk, soul, rock, jazz. I gigged with it only two days after getting it in a small club with a loud drummer and other guitars/keys. Totally cut it. I love that it only has two knobs. It seems well built and I'm hoping to get many more years out of it. Tubes seem fine for the moment. I have a 30-watt Laney amp that is just too loud for most situations, so I needed to downsize a bit. This has half the power, weighs half as much, and has all the tone. LOVE IT!

Rückenfreundlicher Krachmacher

Ich habe mir innerhalb eines Monats den dritten Fender-Amp besorgt. Nicht weil ich die Dinger sammele, sondern weil die Fender-Qualitätssicherung offenbar nachlässig ist. Der Blues Junior in Tweed, den ich zuerst hatte, ging nach 30 Minuten Spiel über die Wupper (Vorstufenröhre), beim Pro Junior III war ebenfalls eine der Vorstufenröhren oder ihr Sockel im Eimer. Bei Thomann bestelle ich dann den neuen Pro Junior IV, hier scheint nun alles in Ordnung zu sein. Die Verarbeitung ist ok, die eine Vorstufenröhre sitzt etwas schief, aber funktioniert.

Der kleinste Fender Röhrenamp ist überarbeitet worden und macht ordentlich Krach, mit 15 Watt ist man natürlich schnell im Overdrive, aber das ist der Sound, den ich will. Auf der Bühne und evtl. im Proberaum werde ich ihn mit einem Mikro abnehmen.
Für ein so kleines Gehäuse schiebt er untenherum auch ordentlich, die schnell einsetzende Röhrensättigung ist ein Fest, jedenfalls für meine Ohren. Würde sagen, dass dies ein sehr guter Amp für Blues ist, der meine Spielnuancen gut unterstreicht und auf sie reagiert.
Ein Grund für die Wahl des Pro Juniors war das geringe Gewicht. Er sieht dabei auch noch richtig gut aus.

Übrigens waren die Mitarbeiter des Ladens, wo ich den Vorgänger ausprobiert habe, überrascht, dass der Würfel so viel Radau macht. Offenbar greifen die meisten zum großen Bruder Blues Junior und haben ihn nicht auf dem Zettel.

Der fehlende Hall stört mich nicht, dafür habe ich Pedale.

Ich wünsche mir, dass der Kleine mir länger erhalten bleibt als die anderen. Fender, bitte mehr in die Qualitätssicherung investieren. Strombetriebene Geräte und Nachlässigkeit sind für mich keine guten Partner.

Droit à l'essentiel

L'expression anglaise "less is more" s'applique très bien à cet ampli. Les contrôles sont très simples, mais permettent d'obtenir très facilement le son recherché. J'avais hésité avec la version Blues Junior, mais je ne regrette pas mon choix.
Le son est très surprenant; il est très bien défini, tout en restant très chaleureux. Le volume est impressionnant. Je n'ai pas encore dépassé le volume à 6 et les vitres de mon salon commencent à trembler. Je pense qu'il sera largement suffisant pour des concerts dans des petits espaces (pubs, etc.). Je pense me faire accompagner d'un contrebassiste et d'un batteur/cajon pour jouer dans les styles jazz et blues.
Je joue avec une Les Paul et le son me fait un peu penser à un ancien modèle Plexi Marshall (avec l'ampli poussé). C'est certainement dû au circuit modifié qui renforce les basses à fort volume. Le haut-parleur Jensen apporte également une touche vintage, tant sur le plan esthétique que sonore. Pour résumer, le son me fait penser aux anciens enregistrements de Freddie King et de Howlin' Wolf, aux premiers enregistrements de ZZTop et aux albums blues des Black Keys. L'esthétique de l'ampli est sublime, elle s'accorde parfaitement aux sonorités veloutées qui sont produites. Je ne modifierai rien à cet ampli, même si j'avais un budget illimité. Je suis comblé!
