Useless due to loud low frequency hum and noise.

TrEr, 24.02.2017
As the title says: This amp is completely useless due to unacceptably loud hum and noise. The hum is present even with gain/master all the way down and nothing connected to the amp.

The hum is at 100Hz+harmonics (or 120Hz if you're in a country with the power running at 60Hz). There's also an unacceptable levels of noise from around 2kHz and upwards.

I did a quick search online and discovered many other reports of the exact same problem. This is either a seriously flawed design or there's a bad batch out there.

The amp is completely useless and I've contacted Thomann for a replacement or a refund. Thomann has excellent customer service so I'm sure there will be no problems with this.

If anyone is considering this amp I can not recommend a purchase before getting a confirmation whether this is just a bad batch or a flawed design.

Update: After returning the amp to Thomann they told me that all Bassbreaker 007 have the same level of noise as the one I returned. I can only conclude that this amp is an unbelievably poor design and should be avoided. It's sad to see Fender put their name on junk like this.

Thankfully Thomann arranged for a full refund (including a rather expensive return shipping). Great customer service!

Fender sounds like Marshall !? I can not believe it...

Oliver28, 02.05.2016
The Amp has a full, fat and round Crunchsound and sounds in my ears on a Celestion Vintage 30 Box very Marshall! Only much quieter! What I like very much, as I would only use it at home and for recordings. And unlike other tube amps with comparable performance, sound and dynamics are largely retained even with low-volume loudspeakers. Really good!

Even with the first hit with a Stratocaster, it becomes clear that it is exactly this sound, which is known from many discs - without additional pedals. If you switch, for example, a Tubescreamer before it goes again and again, without risking ear whistles. Fantastic, what you can do with this small amp on high room.

Even the pure cleansound is solid, but I prefer the classic / softer fendersounds. A matter of taste! The strengths of the amp but I see in the slightly torn and crunchy sounds.

At the visible processing there is nothing to complain about, however, the amp hums quite clearly, even if all controls to 0 and no preference whether a guitar is connected or not. In addition, I have found that a small part in the Ampgehäuse flies around. Perhaps there is a connection here? In any case I send this copy back, but order a new one of course!

Supplement:

The second muttered loudly, which was not playable and properly broken! The third muttered a little less than the first one - so you have to be comfortable. I also noticed that the bass control is much stronger than the first amp, which I had to turn back much further. But works!

Conclusion: Processing / final control should be better ... But you must also not forget what the amp costs, and if you have some luck or patience, you get a great amp!
