Funk a raudales

Antonio Javier G., 29.03.2013
Choosing a stratocaster classic series, to my liking, has always been one of the best value-priced options on the palette that fender currently offers, and especially in the 1970s it awakens many images of great rock stars.

Ash body with an incredible sonority that, together with the maple neck gives a sound rich in media, with a lot of presence, the quality of the wood is observed in a clean sound, defined and not at all plastered. The finishes have nothing reproachable, the guitar is finished to perfection and sounds to stratocaster by the 4 sides.

As possible cons that this model can have, for those who do not know what they are looking for, it could be the 3-bolt anchorage system ... always demonized with a loss of sustain that is not such, since the loss of sustain would come if it were Necessary to increase the micro tilt system, but also would go with the same 4-bolt guitars. On the other hand, the micro tilt system can be of great help if over time the mast will bend or the type of strings or tuning that we use would require its use, being this the only Mexican fender that brings it, to see it again there They go up to the american standard

It should also be taken into account that as a reissue it is not a modern guitar, it is a guitar with small frets and very curved radio, with the purest vintage specifications, not difficult to play or uncomfortable and with a sound that will amaze Any, but perhaps not valid for anyone looking for a current configuration.

A touch of the 70s

Frank689, 02.11.2010
The guitar in Olympic white looks really good and the larger head plate is the strat well to face. The instrument has a comfortable weight and fits very well to the body - Strat eben. The very long U-shaped neck made of maple is fantastic to play. The finish of the guitar is as far as I can see flawlessly and the individual parts are neatly screwed so that nothing wobbles. However, one must also cut back. The Potis are really cheap and are also used unevenly. However, they do their duty properly. The mechanics do not like me at all and the saddle also works cheaply. Somewhere the relatively favorable price must also come from. I can not comment on the tremolo.

First and foremost, the guitar has interested me because I had the sound of Gilmore, Hendrix or Knopfler in my ears - and so does the guitar. The clean sounds are wonderfully throaty / pearly and so characteristic of strat that it is a real pleasure. Most of all, I have the neck and neck / middle positions. The guitar sounds clean but good in all settings. With Overdrive (eg Marshall Sound) the sound is rocking and you have no trouble to produce "classic" sounds with it. From the neck pickup comes a wonderfully creamy sound reminiscent of David Gilmore and the bridge pickup sounds more aggressive and rockier. Therefore the guitar fulfills all expectations.

In some test reports the hum of the pickups is criticized. I have not been able to determine anything, but I only played at home with moderate volume. So far no problems.

All in all, a guitar that you can really enjoy. Probably it is advisable to invest something more in higher quality parts (mechanics, saddles, potis). If that is professionally done, then actually no wishes remain open - one has then a really nice and Urgent Stratocaster. According to some reports, the guitar with Custom Shop sounds 69 pickups even better - hard to believe - but perhaps worth a try.
