Versatile little monster

I bought this head for low-volume recording and as a backup of my Hughes&Kettner Triamp head.
For a 15Watt amp it's really loud! More-than-enough for rehearsals, or even gigs in smaller clubs. It obviously lacks the headroom a 100W head has, but weighing only 6kgs and having great out-of-the box sounds make up for this.
The clean channel sounds really nice and punchy, while the overdrive has more than enough gain for any genre. The sound can be shaped very well with the EQcontrols.

Now the downsides:
- The overdrive channel is unfortunately quite noisy. Replacing the Tubes might help this, but this is a bit disappointing. It's not unbearable - yet still more than I like.
- A switchable FX loop would be a huge improvement - I would have payed an extra 20-30euros for having that option +an extra button on the footswitch.
- The stacked gain/volume controls save a lot of space, but one has to be careful, as they easily stick together.
- Gain-wise there is a big gap between the 2channels, and since I normally use 3-channel amps I need pedals to fill this gap.

All-in-all a very solid, good-sounding and light amp! Bang-for-the-buck!

From sparkly clean to blue madness

This amp may not be for everyone. It might be a little to wild and compressed on the gain channel if you are not into various alternative lead playing techniques. I?m still learning that myself. However the green channel ranges from ultra-clean to hard rock distortion and, believe me, it takes pedals beautifully. You can use any fuzz, overdrive or distortion you have and finally hear what it really does and how many different colors you can get from what you already had. I always used orange amps myself and this was a huge transition for me. This amp makes me feel like some mad scientist when it comes to shaping tone and I love how extreme the possibilities are. Highly recommended but not for everybody.

B
kick ass amp
Booger 22.04.2018
this thing is just a beast! It's only 15 watts but it's roar is freaking powerful!! Great for gigs and recordings. Very easy to tweak the sound thanks to the EQ section and the resonance and presence controls. The gain channel has all the gain you could ever need. Blasting this thing at full volume is just a pleasure.
The only problem with this amp is that the blue channel is impossible to set at a friendly volume and making it sound good cuase at low volume it's way to fizzy to be enjoyable, but as soon as you push the blue channel volume up a little bit it gets much much better. The clean channel is very very nice!

If you wanna play metal and you play small gigs, or simply play with friends somewhere you can crank your gear, this is a very good choice.

Mini but BIG!!

Amazing amp, better than the old version.

1st channel (green) : warm and detailed clean sound. If you add an ambience pedal in the loop, you can do everything.

2nd channel (blue) : this is an overdrive / ultra distortion channel. This channel is the perfect match of "blue and red channel" that comes from the old lbx.
Warm OD for rhythm and very loud super distortion for solos.
This is the new blue (2nd) channel.

The first LBX was amazing. The LBX II is more versatile.
100% Rock!
