Casino Coupe: excellent instrument
Fabio992 12.08.2014
This is an excellent instrument. It is absolutely very good value for the money and I can only recommend it to anyone, beginner or more advanced player.
It came absolutely defect/ problem free, the only minor flaw being the “historic” Epiphone logo – which is not carved in the pickguard but rather a thick sticker – partially detached from the pickguard. This could be easily fixed with a dab of glue.
The vintage finish, glossy, is perfect and stunning. The binding on both body and neck is very nice.
This instrument is very light due to the full hollow body, the weight being balanced towards the neck – which can be surprising at first.
The sound is very rich, round, yet it lends to distortion, and gives out a raucous hard rock tone. The neck pick up, clean, is perfect for blues. The single coil pick ups are surprisingly quiet (I use a MXR Badass effect).
Perhaps due to the trapeze tailpiece, small adjustments of tuning are needed day by day.
I changed the strings to coated 9-42 as a matter of personal preference.
I am ending up using this guitar every day (together with the other Epi I have, an LP Standard Plus Pro), although I have several other guitars, some of which much more expensive made-in-USA pieces.

The overall quality of the guitar was OK but the quality control failed. Here is a list of issued my guitar had:
1) The neck pickup was mounted upside down.
2) The pickguard was a bit offset
3) The bottom f whole was not painted in the part covered by the pickguard
4) The switch was rattling
5) The rosewood was white stripes in the grain

Either than that, it came pretty well set up and it played well. The pickups were average (as expected) and the tuners very cheap but working (hated the fact that the buttons were very small).
I also didn't like the fact that the supposedly slim taper neck profile didn't really feel like a slim taper, but more like a modern D shape.

For a 330 euro guitar (when I bought it) was OK, but for the current price I wouldn't recommend it.

Ho visto cose che voi umani..
Anonymous 23.08.2016
