Great Set & Super Easy to Install
Ralph-UK, 02.05.2020
Pickup manufacturers really need to start following EMGs example. EMG pickups are so easy to install and really make modifying guitar electronics enjoyable and not an agonising chore.

I had an old Westfield bass that I ripped the electrics from years ago and just never got round to sorting it. I did consider buying a pre-made loom but for £80 more I could replace the whole set so I thought why not.

Install was a breeze and I'd recommend using the foam inside the EMG box underneath the pickups so you can have some slight pickup height adjustment.

Overall very pleased with the sound and install. Other manufacturers take note, this should now be a universal standard. Seymour Duncan knocked off the quick install so you can drop blackouts in to EMG pot sets and then include bog standard pots and wires, crazy!

Solid choice for noiseless passives
Zirilan, 02.05.2020
Bought these as a replacement for the stock pickups in a Spector NS-2a. These pickups sound great if you're after a vintage tone with all the benefits of modern technology. They don't produce any extra noise/interference and sit well in the mix. Imo, the only downside to these pickuos would be that these are not what you'd expect from your typical EMG pickup set. I'm used to be able to add some grit to my tone by digging in with my plucking technique. These seem to keep their round and 'friendly' tone, even with an aggressive playing style.

Overall a great buy,
+ I can imagine these will will improve almost any entry-level bass and most mid-level basses compared to other passive stock PJ pickups.

- Might not be considered 'aggressive' enough, if you're really in to a 'hi-fi' modern bass tone

Great sound, less great volume control
Rubi.M, 30.05.2021
I installed this set in a passive Cort action PJ, alongside bridge replacement, and the result is fantastic. The guitar sounds different and better, there are good tone options, much better than the original set.
The only thing I'm not happy with is the two volume controls. They hardly make a difference for most of the potentiometer sweep. It seems like most of the change in volume is noticeable at the last quarter/fifth of the knob's turn. To my question about it, EMG's support replied it is not uncommon for passive pickups in this configuration (volume/volume/tone).
Even though, i am very pleased with the end result of this mod: Solderless connectors makes the installation process easy, the parts and their finish looks and feels high quality, and most importantly, the sound is great. Thumbs up!

Very nice and balanced pickups
Omega-t-k, 08.03.2021
Bought them to replace the stock ones from a 1990s ibanez SR500.
Although the process was not painless, due to the bass and neck pickup holes not being the same size (not a product issue obviously), the rest of the installation was a breeze. EMG plug and play system is excellent.
Regarding sound quality, they are amazing to my taste. Very balanced, enough grit and nice solid lows. Gave the bass the life it was lacking. And for the price? unbeatable.. You get a 3 very good sounding pickups, and all the electronics you need to do the replacement.. what's more to say?
