Nobody does it better than EMG
The EMG 81 pickup is active and the solder-less connections are simple to use or swap around making the guitar extra versatile! The 81 pickup is excellent at picking up the sounds with a quality 80s rock style and it can have a decent space to the strings, so no issues with striking the cover. It gives clarity and power far superior to passive pickups. Being a humbucker makes it a pretty complete option. I have it on my telecaster as the neck pickup and it is amazing paired with the EMG telecaster bridge pickup. Has to be a favourite combination of all my guitars. The chrome cover is nicely finished. A particular favourite feature is the pickup being fully sealed so no chance of dirt or contaminants getting in where it can not be cleaned.
One thing to be aware of is the depth as the connection is on the back so a minor modification to the recess might be required if you cant get the pickup low enough. Mine is just right but i know it is tight for space. The pickup is worth the effort though so dont be put off.
