As we know, the cradle is supposed to deal with EHX Next Steps pedals' tendency to slip when in use. I have a Crying Tone wah pedal, which I think is great value, but found the "slippage" annoying. Just before buying the cradle I purchased rubber "non-slip" matting from a discount shop, and a square of that under the pedal proved quite successful at stabilising it. The cradle certainly keeps the pedal from slipping; however, there is slight movement in the cradle, and overall I don't like the feel of the pedal inside the (hard) cradle. One of the plus points of the Crying Tone is the feel, provided the pedal doesn't move around! With a rubber mat the pedal still moves laterlly, but onely slightly. I wonder whether the "tread" of the pedal should be looked at again and modded to make it grip the surface better and be as stable as possible. So, in conclusion, I prefer using a rubber mat to the cradle, and think there could be better alternatives designed along the same lines; however, the cradle will suit some players out there. And it really is a great pedal!
