Fantastic bass distortion!
reviewer871 24.10.2020
Great pedal, built very solidly. Soft press button (so no loud annoying click as you step on it) and true bypass so it doesn't effect the tone when not on. I brought it to use on bass.
Contains 3 modes: Tubesim, STD and Flat. Personally i only use the STD mode which allows a very realistic grindy valve type of bass distortion which lets the low end through unaffected so you get great distortion with strong low end, which sounds fantastic! So many bass overdrives or distortions i've used slightly distort the low end as well and don't sound quite as nice to my ears. Tubesim rolls off some of the top end, which sounds more like a vintage valve tone with vintage speakers (Not really my thing on bass). The Flat sounds more like a fuzz, which sounds great for what it is, but i don't tend to use fuzz. This pedal also sounds great on guitar on all 3 modes: the Tubesim does a great job of mellowing overly bright single coils. Also, don't be put off by the "Metal" label, its a great natural sounding distortion for any application not just metal. Overall would recommend for bass or guitar!

I have been buying EBS products since 1998. they are all of exceptional quality and unique.
in particular I consider the EBS compressor, and neo cambinbets to be the best I have heard.
EBS Metal Drive II is an exceptional good quality and simple distorsion pedal ...................and Thoman has a very good price ...

I
Solid.

This pedal has a really solid build.
It's simple and intuitive and the button also feels quite smooth.

For me and the sound that I enjoy, it is a bass pedal. I don't really like what it does with guitars so I just use it to make my bass sound heavier.

Recommended!
