I acquired the kit last week. I am enchanted on its finish, execution and last but not least, the great sound! I wouldn't imagine a huge difference in sound between my Japanese drums and the new DW Drums set. I play rock music and I can say it's the perfect match with this style. Together with the DW collector's Nickel Over Brass I have this kit makes perfect marriage.
The only minus is that all lugs' screws were not properly screwed. After the first 2 rehearsals we wanted to re-tune the toms, and noticed one screw was free into the tom. Putting the batter head out, we noticed all screws were loosen. Then I've spent couple of hours tightening all screws from all lugs around the whole kit.
It didn't happen this with neither of my older Tama and Gretsch kits. This is a minus to the famous quality check of the famous DW Drums factory. Hey guys, when you assembled my kit you were out of electricity for the electric screwdrivers?
In rest my new DW Drum set is magnificent!
