Glass clear ATTACK !!!
Like most guitarists have tried many different picks over the years and have been using the Ultex Sharp 1.4 for about 3 years now and am very happy with it. I mainly play Metal in the direction of Metalcore and Djent.
For some time I played the Max Grip. Unfortunately, their tips are too stupid for my taste and that is why I have always polished the things. However, the tips took off very quickly. Also with the Jazz III version I was not really satisfied, since they are simply too small for me. The grip is however a huge plus.
Now to the actual topic:
One day I placed a small selection of the Ultex Sharp, from 0.9mm to 2mm and compared them for a long time and was convinced of 1.4.
Basically, the Ultem is a great material if you want a decent portion of attack at the stroke. At the same time, the 1.4er are relatively flexible (the 2s were too stiff and the thinner ones too soft).
The control of the strings is very direct with the 1.4er. If it is to be a little softer, the pick is held less strongly in the fingers and already, for example, it glides over the strings when it comes to scratching.
Ultem also gives the pick a good grip. Since I live in live situations but mostly sweat like a sow I stick to me usually a bit of skateboard griptape on both sides of the picks (funny that I've seen so far still nirgens as a guitar hack ...)
Depending on the type of game, the Ultex Sharp can also be used rather quickly, but the contour and the clear clear attack of these picks have convinced me absolutely.
But all in all, the 1.4s are my favorite picks for any situation.
