His name speaks for himself!
ALXFR, 02.05.2018
I already had a Carbon Copy M169 and when this Deluxe version M292 came out, I wondered if, although very satisfied with the first, the second would bring me enough more to justify his purchase: the answer is yes!
On the other hand, to pass from one to the other one requires an adaptation, one has to take it like a pedal a little different and not like the same with simply more functions.

What do we have again?
- Mix and Regen have the same obvious functions, although their race seems much more progressive on the first half.
- Delay manually sets the delay time to 1.2s where the sound is still quite degraded, since it is not a digital pedal.
- Bright to get the sound of the M269SE whose repetitions are, as the name suggests, clearer and better defined.
- Mod associated with Speed ??and Width: these are the settings for the modulation, so it is no longer necessary to open the pedal to change them, which makes it easier to use.
- Tap Beat, Tap Div and the associated display: that's where it becomes very interesting! Being able to adapt the rehearsals to the rhythm of a song changes everything for me who was used to a static setting. The LED above Tap Beat allows you to see the current tempo and readjust it if the group has slowed or accelerated. The flashing of the display is linked to the chosen division: dotted, eighth, triplet or sixteenth, nothing is missing! If no division is chosen, the display remains off and repetitions are done at the rhythm typed on the foot.

Additional functions with the EXP plug.
It is possible to use an expression pedal to go from one setting to another, however it is a pity that Mix and Regen are not memorable. It is also possible to use a simple foot switch to switch more directly between the two memorizable settings or to remotely control the buttons Bright, Mod, Tap Beat or Tap Div.
The website jimdunlop.com details on video how it all works, because it is not very intuitive.

Apparently by opening the pedal, there is way to switch the output between line level and instrument, or to go into kill dry mode, except that it takes a key to the American format for that, too bad. It is also possible to adjust the intensity of the LEDs for Tap Beat and Tap Div.

What is missing ?
As already said, the volume and especially the number of repetitions are not memorizable, moreover a self-oscillation function (keeping a button pressed, for example) or a "tails" mode (no sudden stop when cutting the pedal) would have been very useful!

Apart from these few defects, the sound of rehearsals is really pleasant, moreover I should rather say the sounds because the possibilities are diverse.
If you prefer simplicity, stay on the original model, if you want more modernity, it will bring you much more!
