I docked a point for quality because the first one I got wouldn't switch to vibrato mode. Thomann replaced it and the new one works as you'd expect; it makes buzzy noises. I'd planned to run it into a Korg Monotron to get lots of filter action going on onstage, but it wasn't worth the effort, so I gave up on it. These days, I mostly use it to annoy my girlfriend from time to time.
This gadget is sure to find its way to at least one of your tracks (live or recorded), and that is completely worth the price. Remember, Kraftwerk used a stylophone just once, and David Bowie twice, I believe, all in different decades.
Sure, it is a digital replica of the real thing, with perhaps more emphasis on looks rather than sound. The short sample that generates the output is in quite low resolution - especially noticeable in the "bass" mode.
