Long lasting, but not groundbreaking
Owlied, 04.10.2017
I've switched for years between using these and Ernie Ball's Heavy Bottom Slinky Top, which are the same gauge. I've found that the D'addario strings snap less easily, particularly the high strings, and seem to be more resilient to energetic playing. I don't play very fast metal or lead lines often, so they don't come under a lot of stress, but I've found that they seem to hold tune a bit better than the Ernie Ball strings on the same guitar in the same room. They seem to settle in to their tuning from being strung up quite quickly, and their 'slickness' stays for a fairly long time, although they do get buildup and rust at roughly the same rate as other standard string brands (without moving up to coated strings). I have found a few times that the tie at the ball end of the string can come undone and break at that end with very heavy playing, particularly on my jaguar and jazzmaster where they may come into slight contact with the tremolo plate screws by vibration, but it has not happened that often and so I have persevered with them for now.
These strings stay quite bright sounding even when they are getting old and need replacing, but can sound a bit harsh to begin with, which I don't find with Ernie Ball strings. Overall though, I find the D'addario present better value.

Decent strings
P to the ieter, 13.12.2020
Been using these for a while, and quite happy with them. If they break it's after a long time, and at the Floyd Rose bridge end - mind you that by that time (after several months) they are a little bit corroded already.

Have never compared strings, but sound is as it should be I guess?

steel 10/46 D'darrios
David1466, 07.11.2014
Good set of strings, smooth to the touch and bright sounding. Fortunately, the
sharpness of the sound mellows after a few days, leaving you with a balanced
and competent sound and feel.

Decent strings
bertel3, 10.09.2014
Using these for the first time. The strings function as the should, have not encountered any problems. The quality seems good so far (I've had them for a couple of months).

D'Addario 10's
Mark557, 26.05.2013
I always buy string multipacks when making orders, works out excellent value compared to buying individual packs in local guitar stores. Nice quality strings, quite bright which I like. Never seem to break either, although sometimes that can be a reminder to change strings more than once every six months!

Great brand, good sound
31.01.2016
I've only used d'Addario strings on my acoustics before getting this lot for my Epiphone electric. The strings sound a little too bright for my taste. This may be because they're knew. I find it's not too hard to correct for this using amp knobs and an EQ plugin (if I'm recording).

I will definitely use these for a few weeks and see how they measure up to the Elixirs I was using before. If I'm unhappy, I'll just try another set (probably from d'Addario again, I just love their products) which should be a little warmer.

Longevity
eca9, 19.03.2018
Great sounding strings. The only problem I have with these strings would be with their longevity. I find I have to change strings every 2 weeks as my sweat tends to corrode them.

Great bright strings!
jonastielemans, 17.06.2018
These sound very clear, but for me they seem to oxidate faster than others, but this is maybe just me.

First time using and quite impressed
Colin2613, 29.12.2013
Purchased these mainly on cost but got to say that I REALLY like the feel and balance of these strings and they sound good too.
I guess I'm a winner.
I have been using Ernie Ball for over 20 years and have never strayed but going to put the Ernie's back next time to see what the difference is but for the price, this is a super buy.
Don't like the packaging, like a lot of other people. You cant store your old strings separately in the old bags coz there ain't any. They come all in one plastic bag.

Great afforbable strings.

Seem to last very long and feel rigid. Tends to have some oily product on them when new and leaves you with some friction. Great sound and good overall quality though...

OK average quality
Sherwood Sofa Meister, 18.02.2015
String choice is subjective, and there are plenty of fans of these strings. Personally I think they are OK, but not great. I feel that these strings lack a little presence, transparency, and longeivity. For me Ernie Ball equivalents are better.

Good allround guitar strings
Anton8488, 01.02.2014
I really like these strings. They last long and they have a good balanced sound. Not to bright but with great bite. Daddario have an even quality to all products in their range. I can recommend these strings.

Daddario EXL110-3D
Arnoldas, 18.06.2013
Great string package. I am always using this set of string because of it's tone and quality of the sound. Also 0.10 it is perfect for my guitar, because it has a tremolo system. The tuning of the guitar stays perfect with this gauge of strings, but it depends how many springs has the guitar. Overall - great product. For guitarists those sets of strings is perfect to save money on the shipping.

Good Strings!
20.08.2016
I like this for rehearsing or noodling inbetween sessions

I wouldn't use them live in the studio as they do get dull real fast, but thats reflected in the price

Best sounding strings ( to my ear )
31.08.2014
In my opinion, these strings sound the best. A very bright modern sound that responds well to dynamics. They don't last as long as some other brands but are reasonably priced.

Daddarion EXL110
30.01.2015
Daddario are my strings of choice and these 10's are my default for anything other than Floyd equipped guitars, or specialist applications such as down tuning or slide guitar.

A really good shelf life, they don't get dull quickly like others. I actually like the coloured ball ends, it does stop you making stupid mistakes putting the wrong string on ( we've all done it, it's really annoying!).

The only problem I had with these was putting them on a Washburn X series guitar, they seemed really flappy and loose even though the guitar had a standard scale length and your bog standard tune-o-matic bridge. Odd, but I think it was the guitar's fault, not the strings.

Good value standard issue stings that are my first stop for most of my guitars.
