'Echo' with a great timbre enhancement feature set
KevinNN 18.09.2021
Tera Echo has surprised me with a great timbre enhancement feature set. I was into getting another 'freeze' device, but I 'felt in love' with the echo style immediately. Because of smart sound processing circuit (you can read the web) it delivers quite special color/textures. This pedal is not for everyone, also you need to find your 'settings' and a place in a path.

Build quality and knobs are at their best. This is the only white pedal in my collection so far :D

I wish it was a built-in feature, but you can mod it (check the web): to use freeze switch without standing on it with your feet ;)

One trick pony? Or maybe....

Yeah I get it, a lot of people say this pedal has one type of sound only, but I find that playing with the feedback and effect level knob give you are very large array of ambiental kinda sounds.

I bought this to get some of that weird meditating sounds and it does the job well. The freeze function is usable but not in a live situation, becase the switching is abrubt.

Otherwise, it's a Boss, it will last you forever, build well and good resell value.

One trick pedal
Anonymous 18.06.2014
Does one sound in a great way. Awesome for ambience, swell effects when using a volume pedal. Responds dynamically to playing so with practice you can exert a lot of control over the sound. The 'hold' function doesn't create a smooth tone ( you can hear where the loop begins/ends) so it's not really that useful.

Would be a lot more useful with a tap function and the option to override the variable tempo, which would make it useful in a musical situation. Without that it's really only good for ambient/solo sections, but it does that very well!
