It is something unique

This tiny mic is really wonderful. Gentle, warm sound, perfect for all needs. We mostly use it as a central microphone for 5 mic stereo recording.

Once we recorded the grand piano in a live performance, we forgot to turn on the phantom power for the main microphones. 2 compositions were recorded with just this one small mic. We thought what to do and decided to use a record. To avoid losing these compositions, we used a digital stereo process. If you want, you can listen to M130 sound:

Fantastic microphone

These things sound great and look super cute!
They are super light which is very handy if you use them as overheads, you can use a normal stand and they won't tip over.
They sound quite dark but not boomy at all.

I like it a lot as a cymbal spot and on guitar amps. Really good on saxophones and for mid - side applications.
The slightly different frequency response of the two lobes can be an advantage or a problem depending on the application.

preiswerter Klassiker unter den Bändchenmikrofonen

Beyer baut dieses Mikrofon schon sehr lange und ohne Pause seit den 60er Jahren.

Bei all dem Hype der letzten Jahre und dem damit verbundenen Revival der Bänchenmikrofone scheinen viele vergessen zu haben, dass es dieses geradlinige, erprobte und absolut perfekt verarbeitete Bändchenmirkofon sowie sei Nierenpendant (M160) immer noch gibt.

Verarbeitung und Sound sind den ganzen in China gefertigten Bändchenmikrofonen haushoch überlegen. Im Vergleich zu den etwa 3-4 mal teureren Royer-Bändchen mag dieses Mikrofon etwas weniger Flair versprühen, aber entpuppt sich in der Anwendung als ebenbürtig.

Zwei M130 ergeben ein perfektestes Blümlein-Paar (so hat Bruce Swedian z.B. bei Michael Jackson die Banking-Chöre immer aufgenommen), in Kombi mit dem M160 hat mein ein hervorragendes M/S-Paar für Raummikrofonie.
Oder einfach ein M130 allein an eine HH für perfekte Seitendämpfung zur Snare (besser als Nieren es je könnten) und seidenweiche Höhen. Tolle Transienten für verzerrte Gitarren und ebenso warme Tiefmitten für clean Sounds.

Das Mikro aus unserem Studio- und Livealltag nicht mehr weg zu denken.
