Good mixer for small money
Johannes791, 15.10.2010
First of all, I am a complete DJ for beginners and can only draw conclusions from my subjective experiences, but not draw comparisons.

My system:
2x American Audio TTD 2400
1x ESI Maya 44 USB
1x Behringer VMX100 USB
2x Numark Timecode Vinyl

Service:
The Behringer Mixer is very easy to use. It is not absolutely necessary to read the operating instructions as all the controllers are labeled or are in the normal position.
The rotary controls have a snap-in point at the zero point, the corssfader and the volumetric regulators for the channels can be easily moved, but they are not too loose to shift in the case of positional changes. All of the controls are very intuitive and experienced DJs will be intuitively looking for the right controls in the right places.

Features:
Here the Behringer VMX100 can shine for a mixer of this price class:
There is a USB input, which can replace a RCA port of a channel. There is also a volume display divided into three color scales: green, yellow and red. Furthermore, the BPMs of the respective tracks can be displayed and synchronized by LEDs via an optical system. This works partially very well, only sometimes has some failures, especially with Acapella tracks.
Furthermore, the Corssfader can be operated in two different modes:
The "soft" mode allows for a gradual transfer of the tracks, while the "sharp" mode only starts to overlap with the last control strokes of the fader. This is especially suitable for scratching, while the "soft" mode is more suitable for overlaying tracks.

Furthermore, a microphone, as well as a headphone can connect via 6.3 mm jack. These can be controlled both sepperat by the input signal.
Please note that the headphone output ALWAYS plays both channels, no matter where the crossfader is. Also the volume control of both channels have no influence on the volume of both channels in the headphone. Here would be another mode to be installed that enabled this feature for the headphones for the purpose of doing exercises with headphones.

Sound:
The sound is well passed on to the system, even in the headphones you can see no prints in terms of sound quality. The microphone is also very faithfully reproduced. None of the slider controls or produces other disturbances

Processing:
Although all the regulators are made exclusively of plastic, they make a solid impression and can be moved / turned well. The case offers no sharp edges and looks in the simple black very noble. The connections are also easy to reach. All regulators except the sliding controllers are labeled. The LEDs light up vigorously.
The only negative thing to mention here is that the connections for the headphones and for the microphone lie very low on the front. If an object is placed in front of the mixer, neither headphones nor microphone can be connected.

Conclusion:
Although the Behringer VMX100 USB does not cost a lot, it still offers many more or less useful features. If you are looking for a good entry-level mixer for small money, the Behringer VMX100 is not wrong.
