I bought this to replace an elderly Carlsbro I really liked, but we play a lot of festivals on outside stages and theatres with big stages and I needed something louder. I like 10" speakers so matched it to an Ashdown 8 x 10 cabinet.

I've got lots of behringer kit so when I saw this, I jumped straight in.

A year later, I'm really pleased I got it. It plays LOUD, it sounds good, and the controls are quite gentle and useful. I use two guitars - A Fender Jazz bass that has a higher action that I play hard, and a Peavey that is set up for jazzy bassy stuff, and gets played very gently. The amp copes with both of these perfectly.

I also do NOT look after it. It has a flight case, but has fell off cases in the van from a height, fell off the cab onto a hard floor loads of times and no ill effects.

I use the mute button quite a lot and this works silently. I rarely use it in anything other than clean mode - so the valve like emulations haven't been explored - I often have it very loud though and this doesn't cause any issues at all.

If I lost it - I'd simply buy another. It just does the job I need it to do with no fuss.

Multipurpose weapon

Until recently, I used my TecAmp L810 on a Bugry Veyron M, which I was basically very satisfied, a handy, not too light, small amplifier with fine sound and neat steam under the hood.

The only thing that has always annoyed me is that you have "only" a single center regulator.
With which one can choose the control frequency, but it remains a single middle band.
Sometimes just the deep peaks for the punch raise and the high center against an annoying string slacken something lower is not.
Ent or neither ...

Then I stumbled upon the BX2000H.
The same output stage is in it (Bugera and Behringer are both the names of the music group, which was founded by Uli Behringer) - already times very good, the Veyron has already enjoyed very much.

5-band sound control, with 3 center bands - aha! Ok, the frequencies are hardwired, but very practical. In particular, I like the fact that the depths are settled here at 140Hz, and not at 220Hz, as with the Veyron. This allows you to produce a thrust, but at the same time lower the bass (at 50Hz) when the location tends to be droning without sounding too thin. Very nice!

Also great: all important connections in the front, ie for cableing DI, effects loop, (optional) foot switch, line out you do not have to go on tight, badly lit stages behind the box tower and in the dark after the correct hole for the plug. .
The amp is slightly bigger and heavier than the Veyron, but it also has the advantage that it is not so easy to vibrate from the box or pulled down on the cable, and secondly, he does not look so lost on bigger boxes ...; As shown in Fig.
The housing is very solid and clean processed - nothing to complain about.

Also the input stage I find very successful - if you drive the Veyron M into the preamp clipping, he will like something biting and scratchy, the BX goes there much more creamy, rounder to the point.
He can not make a proper tug, but makes a nice compression at the back end of the VU meter and smells the sound quite pleasantly.

Speaking of compression: a compressor has the amp also ... the same, as the Veyron ... quite honestly - I find, one can largely forget.
It actually acts more like a limiter, lets the first short peak through and then stags the signal rather rigorously to the respectively adjusted level.
With a very decent setting possibly still useful for Slap or Plek, but with me it remains out.

Another nice feature in the direct comparison: the shape filter. With the Veyron, the Ultra-Lo switch, which slightly lifts the basses, lowers the mids and lowers the heights again - keyword: bathtub switch.
The BX can do this synonymous, but better: although not in the intensity controllable, but in the employment frequency.
In addition, he appears to me somewhat more tamer than in the Veyron.
In the BX, he leaves the bass and treble largely at rest, and only changes the middle band, with a turn from left to right, one moves smoothly from a rock sound to a slap sound, I like very well - often the proper sound control is no longer necessary Because one of the shape controls already offers a nice range of character sounds.

Well, and if something should be missing, there is still the deep switch, which really only boosts the deep sounds nicely broadband, and the Bright switch, which even the presences something again. Both are palpable, but not exaggerated, and both leave their centers in peace.
That's how it should be!

... and what has he now for disadvantages, can not be great for the price ONLY ...?

Yes, 2 things I find personally a little unfortunate:

- the DI out is only post-EQ and has no ground lift
- Compared to the Veyron lack the Aux-In and the Phones-Out, for the quiet practice at home he is therefore unfortunately not to be used ...

Well, he stays in the Proberaum and does a great job.
The built-in fan is bigger than in the Veyron, turns slower, is also temperature-regulated and thus again considerably quieter than in the quite quiet Veyron.
The amp is still cool in operation even under long, high load at 4 ohms.

For the money I can recommend the crate only, let you from the somewhat loaded name "Ultrabass" (the older crates with the name were ... nunja ...) do not unsure, the thing is a grown bassamp with official sound.

BTW: the indicated 2000W are peak performance, which was confirmed by Behringer in various forums already so, but of the achievable volume I would loosely classify it in the 600-800W class, which also with the indicated power consumption of 110W with a Crestfaktor of 1: 8.

Quite honestly, he is too quiet, you have a shit box ... ;-)
