For UST and B-Band Core99 "CR99" a good supplement !!!

Manjo.eu, 06.01.2012
Have the micro ordered, because I have used my bought "Gibson LC-4 Artist" that a B-band Core99 "CR99" preamp with UST was installed.
The "CR99" (UST / AST + micro) is not the same as A2 (UST / AST, micro or magnet PU).

After consulting the support of B-Band, I got the old Instruction-PDF for the Core99 sent and read there, that there is the possibility to connect there (as the only additional option) a prefered in-house condenser micro additionally to the preamp.
I then asked the support once again, whether the new version of the microphone is compatible with the Core99, and the answer was YES !!!

Now I have installed the micro. Of course, I am aware that the part serves only as a "supplement" to the UST, and it makes its job good.
If the DIP switches (other functions than the A2) are optimally adjusted (here neither RF boost nor LF boost), then one has the possibility via stereo splitter cable over 2 mixer inputs the guitar "tuned" for the respective pick-up situation . Either Monomix (microdecently added), or the left channel the UST and the right the micro.
Since you can then mix the sound as it is currently ;-)
Eg left with Chorus, right with Echo / Hall etc
Since the "play rooms / rooms" are inexhaustible !!! I prefer the Monomix with bass and treble reduction.
If you connect a monocable, you have only the UST.
If you connect a bridged stereo to monokabel, then you have both on an input (goes to the emergency, but better is the Monomix over a mixing console).

Here I have to mention that the connection plug of the microphone for the connection to the board of the "CR99" the other way round, 180 degrees contrary to the description, must be plugged onto the board, otherwise no tingling over the micro.

Furthermore, I could only attach the crocodile clip for fixing the microphone inside the guitar, if the clip is opened / closed by a pointing finger. This is a very nice fumbling.

The effort is rewarded by the additional possibility of giving the guitar more "wood" in the overall sound picture.
If the EUR66.00 is worth, the times can be such an option go through the head.
Also, because you can see only externally on a second glance, that there is also a micro is placed underneath the rosette in the body.
And for me very important: there is no briquette in the soundhole, the purely purely optical does not fit, no matter how great the Klotz the guitar amplifies sound, disturbing the optics, as well as the haptics, again and again.
The appearance of the guitar remains light as usual, but the sound is amplified with UST + micro + "CR99" ne WUCHS.
Interesting is also the finding that the slight noise from the UST comes and not from the "CR99", because in the enterprise only with Mikro rauscht it not.

The installation was worth it !!!
The micro remains in the guitar and does a perfect job - with correct adjustment !!!
The microcapsule must not be too deep in the body sit otherwise wummerts and becomes "boxy".
If you pay attention to everything, you have effectively enhanced the amplified sound of the guitar with the micro as well as the offered options of the old B-band "CR99".

Conclusion:
You can always complain.
There are certainly even more awesome / more expensive possibilities to amplify his acoustic guitar. But first you should take advantage of the possibilities offered by this dual acceptance system and then evaluate whether you are satisfied with it, or you are looking for other ways to increase your acoustic guitar.
For my guitar (Bj. Only '97 -'99) it is an authentic system and therefore remains in the guitar.
