For the acceptance of my bassdrum during tape tests and occasional recordings, I have the Audix D6 added. I was amazed how well my bassdrum (Mapex Orion, 22x20) sounds on my in-ear-listeners (UE SF 5 Pro). I was even more amazed when I listened to a recording from the rehearsal room. I was raumbedingt rather ugly sounds accustomed, but the BD sounded as if someone had already edited the signal. An incredibly fat, rich sound, which simply sounds just awesome sounds. This is the sound that I want for my music (Metal / Rock) and which I had hoped for from the D6.
I personally like the sound a lot better than the eternal D112.
Recently, I took the bass of our bassist (Hartke 15er Box) for a live Proberaum recording. Here the same game: an incredibly beautiful, rich bass sound, which I had in the "Kecks box" not much after work.
If you want a nice rock / metal sound, do not miss the D6.
The D6 comes in a very solid, well-finished garment, which has already surpassed two or three crashes without damage.
