Round thing, okay.

ChristianG, 05.05.2011
This is already the 2nd ADX 20 IP, which I bought for my band. We play ska and reggae and have a total of 4 winds with clip-on microphones. 2 have the Sennheiser E 908 B and 2 the ADX.
With the first ADX we had looked for a cheaper alternative to the E 908 B from Sennheiser. In fact, the two are hardly different in sound. Great linear sound curve over the whole range of the wind instruments. We tried the part both on saxophone, trombone and on a trumpet. Everything is transferred perfectly. Of course they are mostly live microphones, for recording you can use them anyway if you do not have a majordeal in your pocket, because then they are always good enough.

The processing is 1A and the idea with the cable holders completely succeeded. At first I have the holders not quite so familiar, because the only rubber plate with nem hole in it are half cut up, but remains reliable.

The microcapsule is also inserted into a rubber holder, which should stop noise from the instruments, which is extremely important for the clip microphones. This works even better with the ADX than with the E 908 B. At trumpet and trombone you can hardly hear key and flap noises, perfect.

Sure, the price is steep, but still cheaper than the Sennheiser counterparts;)

Conclusion: If you want without much thought about the range of application as a versatile and well-sounding micro for a wind instrumental show, then it should be this micro.

Not perfect.

Paul Paul, 06.07.2013
Captures all the movements of the keys of my saxophone which parasitize a little too the sound.

The mini-XLR / XLR adapter is also not super convenient.

The sound is very rough (because taken in front of the pavilion), if you want a rather soft sound, this is not what you need.

In summary, it can be nice if it sticks to the use you want to make, but it is not worth a good microphone on foot.
