Cool looking toy with load of features

Micha67, 21.11.2018
First of all, it is not an instrument for beginners or children. Installing the software takes a lot of time and is very frustrating due to the lack of information. ! small piece of paper and that is it. And ofcourse, without the software no sounds because it is not a plug and play, stand-alone instrument but a midi-controller.
After all is installed the possibilities through the software are limitless. If it can be easily used to perform I wonder. For me it is a nice instrument to play on and explore with.
And it looks cool!

Great look, but that's it

Benne T., 01.04.2018
Had the Vortex for the live use envisaged. Just put the stick in the Kronos and get started ... So much for the theory. Unfortunately, this did not turn out to be that great in practice, because at the latest after (felt) 20 notes, midi hangers were always produced at 'note-off'! The frequency also helps no more "panic" button. At the distance to the receiver it could not really lie, I sat a maximum of 70 cm away. Next thought: unripe wireless connection ... So I've connected the Vortex via USB Midi with the Kronos, but the same problem - and not less common.

In terms of external processing, I can not really complain ... Plastic housing stop - should not be overly heavy. The keyboard is also suitable for potential use as a lead sounds keyboard. Since the processing also counts for the technical side, I can still only award one star here.

The operation seemed passable at first glance.

The Vortex is certainly an eye-catcher! Unfortunately, such frequent midi hangers are an absolute no-go and make the keytar unusable for the intended use, so unfortunately it had to go back.
