Price effective choice

I have been looking for a lot of midi keyboards that comes with more than 6 pads. My final decision was to buy this Alesis V49. At the beginning, I was quite worried because this product seemed like it has several problems. The two main problems that I saw in others' review are: 1. Squeaky noise made from the keys; 2. Double triggering of the drum pads.
For me, Problem 1 did not happen for me until now, even though I have been using this product for about two months, but I actually faced the second problem on the 7th and the 8th pads. It only happens when I don't press them strongly enough, however, it it really annoying in the point that it makes the sensitivity function useless.

Apart from the well-known problems, this midi keyboard is good within this price range. The keys are full-sized and heavy (not smooth at all, but keep in mind that this keyboard with 8 pads is 98 euros, which is relatively cheap). If I have to recommend a mastering keyboard within a budget of 100euros, I would recommend this product.

Pros:
1. It does its job.
2. The blue light from pads and switches are relaxing and eye candying.

Cons:
1. Some pads have double triggering issues.
2. The keys are not really smooth.

Got what I expected more or less (less)
28.04.2015
My expectations for this keyboard weren't high to begin with but it managed to let me down regardless. The velocity sensitivity is useless. It can be edited to be useable on the lower sensitivity levels but even then it seemingly randomly jumps above treshold to play max velocity.

The keys are squeaky and in a loud way. You can imagine how annoying it can get. The knobs and slider work flawlessly. The pads seem very high quality. If I could, I would just have the pad section and remove the keys.

So my main use for this keyboard has been practising finger positions for different chord structures. For this the keyboard is okay. Also using the knobs to input automation and they've been working fine.

This keyboard looks good. I'll give it that much. It's black, it has shiny blue LED lights. The countour on the keys is pleasant to eye. This keyboard is nice decoration for your bedroom studio. And if you play loud enough your guests will barely hear the squeaking of the keys.

Oh yeah since my goal was to learn finger positions, I just completely disabled the velocity sensitivity which is what you should expect to do if you get this board.

Learning tool
Milan S, 21.02.2020
I use this product to learn to play starting from almost 0 experience.
The build quality is better then I was expecting. You do not need anything better for the beginning.

From the software side it is "plug and play" product so you don't need to install drivers, but... You need to know how to set up software so that you don't have any lag between playing and listening . I must say, this is not the problem because of this keyboard but you should have that in mind when you want to use MIDI controllers on PC.

Good quality/price

I bought this keyboard to produce and practice piano at home. The size is great because there's no features that make it unnecessarily large in any direction and the knobs, pads and other buttons are pretty practical. The only downside I see in this keyboard are the pads, their sensitivity is a bit odd: you have to hit or press hard to activate them, but they become very sensitive once they're activated.
