For your typical MIDI usage, Akai delivers for cheap.
17.08.2016
The LPK 25 is a rather cheap MIDI controller from a good, respectable brand. The design's simplicity and price is very attractive, but one must think about it's uses.

Pros:
-Cheap and gets the job done.
-A few programmable buttons that can give you good use.
-Almost plug&play, with barely needing to do anything to get it to work.
-Attractive design. Looks very professional.

Cons:
-Compared to it's big brothers, the button features are rather limited, which is to be expected.
-The design may be appealing to the eye, but not so much to the hands. It feels a bit like cheap plastic but doesn't break as easily.
-The keys play alright, but below average of what you'd expect.

Bottom line, another good bang-for-the-buck MIDI controller. Probably the best at this price. If you can manage to save a bit more, I highly reccomend getting some of the better products Akai has to offer in comparison.

Great little keyboard
07.03.2017
I have had this keyboard for about a year now. I use it with Garageband Midi instruments, and works wonderfully. I do not use the other features a part from the octave buttons. It helps me to quickly create rhythm beats, some melody ideas, or experiment with arrangements.
Although it may feel like a cheap piece of gear, that is exactly what it is, the price is fantastic, the keyboard sensitivity is right, and the lack of many options make it an easy to use midi keyboard.
If you are starting producing at home, making some songs and demos, this is perfect in my opinion.
If you are an experienced producer, and look into more advanced midi features, better sensitivity, then you will need a more advanced MIDI keyboard.
