The screw falls out

This is a nice and easy way to mount something that has a standard 1/4 inch thread to a mic stand. If you want to use your camera on a mic stand occasionally and don't care for getting a "real" tripod for example.
I use it to attach my Zoom portable recorders.

It can, of course, not take any heavy loads, but a Zoom H6 seems to work well at least.

One drawback is that the screw actually quite easily falls out of the slit since the hole is big enough for it to slide right out. Normally and this type of gear you would actually have to screw it out, but not in this case. I always have a camera quite release plate mounted to it so that the screw doesn't fall out and get lost.

So, for lighter gear, as an easy option to attach equipment with a standard 1/4" tripod mount it works well. Just don't lose the screw.

Perfect for what it does...

Great little device!

I am using this with a small camcorder attached to a microphone stand and it works perfectly for what I need.

Firstly, the relevant angle you want is set, then the ball-head adjuster locked with the plastic wing-nut (metal threaded), keeping my device firmly in place - and, as an added bonus, the upper locking screw (between camcorder and plate) has a rubber cushion to prevent any marking of the camcorder/device used keeping it very firmly in place.

All in all, a handy little device, which is very well made. I would have no hesitation in recommending this piece of equipment to anybody!

Use: mounting zoom h5 on a mic stand

It's ok, but the 1/4'' screw is slightly too long for the zoom, so i added in layers of card to allow it to tighten without breaking the zoom h5's mount.

Does the job though, is sturdy enough. I wouldn't trust it with a heavier mirrorless/DSLR camera, but would be fine for smaller gopro/point and shoots/camcorders etc.

Very Useful Adapter

It is a great adapter for the mic stands if you are primarily doing audio, but also require to fix some video gear. This way you can use a mic stand without the necessity for buying an extra tripod.
