Wonderful versatility

I play stoner rock and like big cymbals. Also it just so happens that crash on my rides pretty regularly, so previously I would either use larger crashes for this purpose or would sacrifice crashability by using bigger rides. Now I have the best of both worlds.
Pros: Everything I have read in reviews when researching this cymbal is true - buttery feel; wonderful crashability when used as a crash; does not get overpowering no matter how I hit it; fairly defined ping when used as a ride.
Cons: Well, if I had to nitpick - the bell is lacking.

My favorite piece of kit in a long, long while. Now just to see how it stands the test of time and my heavy hitting... but hey, it's Paiste - should hold up.

Warm, cutting, dark and bright!

I have been searching for my perfect ride for years. I love the tone and warmth of the Paiste Giant Beat 24" but it doesn't quite have enough bite to cut through more intense situations for me.
The new 24" Big Beat is perfect! It has the warmth of the Giant Beat and the 'crashability' (even at low volumes), but it cuts through when needed.
Lovely cymbal.

Das Becken verfügt über eine schöne Optik und vielseitige Klangqualitäten.
Ich habe ein großes Ridebecken, passend zu meinem Sammelsurium aus einem 20er Paiste 2002 Thincrash, 18er Zildjian Custom-Z und 15er Meinl-Dragon gesucht und bin mit dem 24er Black Big Beat fündig geworden.
Es klingt als reines Ride gespielt sehr sauber mit einem dezent schönem Ping, auch die Glocke setzt sich bei lauten Passagen gut durch. Je nachdem wo und wie man das Becken spielt, lassen sich recht unterschiedliche Nuancen in den Klänge erzeugen, das kannte ich in der Art bei Ridebecken noch nicht, die 24 Zoll bieten allerdings auch viel Fläche zum bearbeiten.
Wichtig war für mich, dass es auch einen schönen und tiefen Crashsound hat, was mir die meisten Ridebecken, die ich ausprobiert habe, nicht anbieten, das Black Big Beat hingegen schon.
Ich habe ein wenig Übung gebraucht, bis ich ein Gefühl dafür bekommen habe, wann sich die Lautstärke aufschaukelt, es kann schon sehr laut werden und hat dann ein beachtliches Klangspektrum.
Ich bin sehr zufrieden, was man bei dem Preis meiner Meinung nach aber auch erwarten kann.
Für härteren Rock/Stoner-Kram aber auch für sanftere Klänge aus meiner Sicht sehr zu empfehlen.
