If my house was on fire, I'd go back in for this cymbal.

Wow. I mean... wow! Played this cymbal for the first time at a gig last night and it's fantastic. I needed a cymbal that could work as both crash and ride on smaller set-ups and this just nails it.

The brilliant outer edge gives a smart crash (with a hard "a") which explodes into the mix and then gets out of the way. Moving up to the un-lathed area and you are playing a dark ride with nice stick definition and a pleasant wash. Finally reaching the bell and it's a big'un.. perfect for those driving moments, or to end a song on.

More a crash

This is a brilliant cymbal.

I use it a lot for its crash-ability in heavy hitting songs and when its at the end of a song or a chorus too fill it up that bit more.

the only con with this cymbal is the ride. If you are buying this cymbal dont buy it for a ride cymbal buy it for a crash. (It does have a nice sounding bell on it.

Bijzonder bekken!

Ik zocht al een tijd nieuwe bekkens als professioneel drummer in een funky blues rock band. Ik ben een drummer met gospel, r&b, soul en hip-hop invloeden dus de bekkens moesten voor vele stijlen inzetbaar zijn. Was al een tijd fan van de Byzance extra dry serie, maar ben sinds aanschaf van deze opnieuw verliefd geworden. De bekkens zijn licht, en vrij kort van geluid. Ze zijn aanwezig, maar zeker niet overheersend in een goede mix. Ze zijn uitstekend te gebruiken voor rock-toepassingen, maar ook voor andere voorgenoemde genres vind ik ze perfect in het plaatje passen.

Als ride vind ik de 20" zogenoemde crash/ride minder aantrekkelijk. Ik bespeel het bekken zelf nooit als tide, omdat er weinig tot geen ?ping? te bekennen is. Misschien komt het omdat het bekken dunner is dan de rides die ik gewend ben, maar ik zou persoonlijk de 20" dual crash/ride slechts als crash aanbevelen.

Die aanbeveling is er daarentegen wel een die ik met veel overtuiging en enthousiasme kan doen, want ik ben echt zeer tevreden met deze aankoop, en het bekken heeft me al bij vele optredens en studiotoepassingen bij mogen staan.
