Feels cheap for the price

As the owner of a Player Strat and having played the Jaguar and Telecaster in the same range, I thought I knew what to expect from another Mexican Fender.

I was wrong.

The Mustang 90 feels cheaper than all the others from the range. Not just because it's smaller and lighter, but in terms of overall quality. The fret ends were sharp, saddles in bad shape, knobs sticking, fretboard dry as a bone. It didn't feel any better than the Squier Bullet, just a bit heavier.

If you are willing to spend the cash on a set up after you get it, you do get a fantastic sound from the p90 pickups. Warm, sweet tones that can turn into a noise machine with some gain. With a bit of fuzz this sounds like a beehive but... Good. Hard to explain, it's an indie rock sound that I really liked.

The lack of a belly cut was frustrating for me, as the guitar sits at an odd angle while standing. Might not bother everyone but I appreciate the comfort of a strat.

Sadly the issues with quality, plus a defective nut led me to return it, and I won't be getting another, I'd prefer to put p90s in a better quality guitar. It's just not good enough in the price range to get so many issues and for it to feel so much worse than the rest of the player series.

My best purchase in a long, long time.

The MP-90s are awesome: deep, chewy, punchy. The tones pull you towards new sounds, egging you on to dig in harder, explore your amp for other settings to get more out of the great tones on offer here.

My first guitar with pau ferro fretboard. It felt a little papery at first, but happy with the feel now that it's seen more use. And the Burgundy Mist Metallic finish is gorgeous, even nicer than the photos. The slightly shorter scale length feels more nimble than other Fender offsets I've played (Jaguar and Jazzmaster). Can't wait to gig this guitar!

I've found this guitar very inspiring, Every time I pick it up (which is every day) I find myself switching on my DAW and recording new ideas - never happened to me before with any other guitar I've ever owned. Recommended, and then some.

Wunderschöne und gut klingende Gitarre

Um meinem Gitarrenklangspektrum eine Erweiterung in Richtung P90 zu geben, habe ich mir die Fender Mustang gekauft.

Nach einer 3-wöchigen Wartezeit bzgl. der Zuliefersituation kam die Gitarre dann aber pünktlich zum prognostizierten Termin bei mir an (vielen Dank an Thomann) .
Seitdem spiele ich diese Gitarre sehr häufig und ich muss sagen, sie verleiht unserem rockig / punkrockigen Sound eine wunderbar dreckige und raue Note, die beim Humbucking vorher nicht da war.

Zusätzlich ist das Spielen auf der verkürzten Mensur zwar anfänglich etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, wird aber von Tag zu Tag geiler.

Das Finish und Farbe der Gitarre ist total cool und tadellos.
Die Verarbeitung für den Preis der Gitarre hervorragend.

Alles in allem kann ich die Gitarre uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Unterschätzte P90 Gitarre

Jetzt mit zunehmendem Alter bereitet es doch ein wenig Probleme mit weiten Streiches, daher hab ich mir die Mustang mit kürzerer Mensur bestellt. Bis auf leichte Mängel in der Einstellung eine prima Gitarre. Die P90 haben mich mehr als positiv überrascht! Jeder sollte eine P90 Gitarre haben!
