Un bond en avant !

Après avoir longuement hésité (Boss GX 100, HX Stomp, Boss GT 1000 Core, headrush ...) , la sortie du GX 10 a tout emporté. Il cochait toutes les cases me concernant.
Peu imposant (on peut le rajouter à son pedalboard), complet (la richesse des effets promet de longues heures de recherche), pratique (la gestion par le PC est hyper fluide, par le téléphone, c'est assez efficace aussi), pédale de volume incluse, et une qualité sonore bluffante. Tout cela pour un prix en bas de la fourchette. Je conseille le module bluetooth, cela rajoute de l'ergonomie et de l'efficacité.
Alors oui, il faut bien passer du temps à paramétrer les presets car on n'a que peu de possibilité en live (3 footswitch réellement disponibles), mais au final, ce n'est pas une contrainte pour moi.
Je l'utilise sur scène avec une configuration électro acoustique.

Powerful all-in-one solution

It is a compact version of the GX-100 that delivers.
If you play a lot of different genres and have a need of few effects but don't want to get a pedal for every stuff, this thing is loaded with Boss's legendary effects. There isn't a ton of amps simulations but what it has is good. The A.I.R.D. amps feel alive, if you’re serious about your tone and want a pedal that can keep up with your Metal chops, the GX-10 is a no-brainer.
Boss GX-10 proves itself as a robust build and reliable companion for guitarists. It is a versatile tool for any modern player and a worthy investment for those seeking a powerful all-in-one solution.

Superb sound

I have been playing guitar for more than 10 years and while I haven't used many effects, I do have some experience with classic pedals like wah-wah and distortion.
I bought the Boss GX-10 immediately after it came out but wanted to play around with it before actually posting a review.
At this point, these are my thoughts:
PROS:
1) The variety of sounds you can get out of it is remarkable.
2) The quality of the sounds is great.
3) I love the fact I can simply use my headphones to practice later without bothering my neighbours.
4) The option to use it as an interface is definitely good to have.
5) BOSS offers software that allows you to customise your sound more easily than on the device itself.
6) Solid build quality.
7) Small form-factor that packs so much.

CONS:
1) It may be difficult for new users of this type of devices to find their way in the interface. It's not that complicated but it may take you more time than simply dialing a few knobs on an actual pedal. That's why I recommend using the device with the software provided by BOSS so as to configure your preset more easily.
2) The wah/volume pedal works but do not expect an experience as smooth as the one with a dedicated such pedal. Of course, I did not have this expectation but thought it was important to mention it.

All in all, I would recommend this any day of the week. I guess that after a few months the convenient touchscreen will be enough for me to configure the sound I want more easily.

Great sounds but user interface could be better...

Out of the box the GX-10 sounds much better than my Headrush MX-5 with many really great pre-sets. The user interface however is not as good as the MX-5 and you really need to run the patch editor on a PC/Mac to be able to work easily. Annoying lag with the patch editing software on iPhone and Mac and harder (than Headrush) to organise patches, though of course Headrush doesn't have a PC editor so it needs to be better. The tones of the GX-10 make it a better machine overall, though...
