Amazing Pre-amp/EQ

I have tube Pultec EQ's and thought I'd try a Neve. The Neve is very rich open and lush sounding and the EQ is right there with the Pultecs. Just amazing, makes everything sound phat and lush! I use this for recording with a Neumann tube mic, but also can be used as a guitar pre-amp to give a little more top end on my vintage tweed champ. (champ is just volume w/ no tone controls)
I also use it to plug my bass guitar in and then out to tape or DAW. A great direct box.
By far the best mic pre I've used. It is very 3D sounding with a lot of depth. Brings out the fullness on any source. Can be very clean with headroom and knock it up a few clicks to get a phat tone saturated with rich harmonics. I'm impressed.

Nach 4 Monatelanger Testphase bin ich immer noch überzeugt von diesem Vorverstärker. Meine Signalkette geht von einem Neumann Tlm49 in den Neve 1073 und von da in ein Rme Fireface UC. Teilweise würde ich mir wünschen, dass der Gainregler stufenlos ist für genaueres pegeln. Aber das war mir von Anfang an klar und bin sehr zufrieden damit.

Ich weiß nicht ob man zu einem Neve 1073 noch was schreiben muss. Das Teil ist einfach geil. Und das nicht seit letzter Woche. Wer Ihn noch nicht kennt, sollte das ganz schnell nachholen!! Ich habe noch einen 6176 und muss sagen, dass dieser auch geil ist.
Für A-Gitarren, E-Gitarren und Drumms ziehe ich den 73er klar vor. Der EQ ist nicht immer cool. Bei Drumms und E-Gitarren ist er jedoch der Wahnsinn. Super schön, rund und warm. Schaltet man dann auf Bypass, merkt man wie krass das Signal zusammenfällt. Unglaublich!!!
Zwei Sachen muss ich jedoch erwähnen die mich stören.

Der Preamp besitzt keinen Trimmregler. Will man die Endstufe ?heiß? anfahren, geht das nicht. Das find ich schade. Das nächste was ich nicht so cool finde ist das der Lineinput eine Klinke ist. Da hätte ich mir einen XLR gewünscht.
Ich weiß nicht ob das nur bei mir der Fall war, aber das Netzkabel hatte keinen Stecker!!!!!!
Mir wars egal, weil ich genügend Daheim habe.

Trotzdem, alles in allem eine klare Kaufempfehlung!!!!

Brilliant. Just brilliant. never heard anything like that. I don't have like a 30 years carrier as a producer behind but this is really unmatched by cheaper preamps for what i heard by now! on a counterpoint it is like, what can i say, pretty expensive? but i would never give almost a thousand to a UA lunchbox, let's say, which for me is a very very good preamp, instead of buying this neve. It's like a massage to my ears. If you want to buy a preamp (and that means you already have a lot of other gear) go for this one rather than wasting less money on others. My opinion.
