There's something about flangers that's hard to explain. It's more than just the efffect. It's not just about what it does to the the tone, but what the tone does to you. The foundation of good tone, of course, is the total sum of everything that's in the signal chain. Effects get evaluated too often (online) without building the setup around the pedal. That's where the Camoflange comes in. All of its controls are useful when using the setup that you have. Thanks to the controls, the tone can be fine tuned to almost any rig. This is just about as good as any flanger will ever get.

Awesome flanger, with a true vintage sound

It's a pedal for those who need a vintage style flanger, that can produce both a slight subtle modulation and a roaming flange. Very versatile pedal, mixes well with overdrive and distortion pedals i have. Built quiality is also really nice, it's built like a tank. It's my second ThorpyFX pedal and i can highly recommend it.
Only two drawbacks: pedal is a bit big in size, wish it was smaller; also it's price is high, but you get a good product for it.

Built like a tank

Most flangers are not for me. They are way too present and distort te sound too much. The Camoflange on the other hand has a blend knob. Just dial in the amount of flange you want and with the other controls this pedal is the most versatile flanger I have ever seen. And like all Thorpy pedals (my 3rd), they are built like a tank.

Flanger für die Ewigkeit

Bei That Pedal Show gesehen, wollte ich als Flanger-Fan den Camoflange selbst probieren. Und der enttäuscht nicht!

Das Zusammenspiel der 6 Regler war im ersten Moment etwas schwer zu durchblicken aber nach ein paar Minuten und einem Blick in die Betriebsanleitung lieferte der Camoflange schimmernden dreamy-Flange. Eine Weiterentwicklung der klassischen Electric Mistress Sounds: Kein Signalverlust, besser regelbar, weniger Nebengeräusche, neue Möglichkeiten und Status-LED gibts auch.

Und auch wenn man das Pedal aufschraubt um einen kurzen Blick hinein zu werfen wird man nicht enttäuscht, auf der Platine fein säuberliche through-hole Bauweise, Stecker und Fußschalter sind von der Platine getrennt um Belastungen zu vermeiden.
Das Gehäuse ist mit dem Schaltkreis gut ausgefüllt, für eine Batterie ist kein Platz.

Thorpy hat sich offensichtlich bemüht mit den besten verfügbaren Bauteilen einen Flanger für die Ewigkeit zu bauen. Das haben zwar schon mehrere versucht aber hier kann auch der Sound problemlos mit der Bauqualität mithalten, ich bin begeistert! Der Camoflange ist seinen gehobenen Preis wert.
