I replaced an older Sonor strainer (plastic knob) with this one. It is durable and the keeps it's tightness (the knob wont turn around when tightened.) You may need to replace the rubber shock dampeners between the release-plate and the body of the strainer since they are just fixed on with kinda loose adhesive and I lost mine.

BEST SNARE STRAINER I'VE USED, so much so I bought another one..

Great quality heavy duty feature packed Snare Strainer

As you'd expect from Sonor the actually quality and feel of this Dual Glide Snare strainer is first class, the chrome is faultless and the weight inspires confident that this has been built to last a long time.

This is designed to be retro fitted to any german made recent sonor snare drum and I would recomend this as a great upgrade to any drum.

A Cool feature is the snare wire quick release, if combined with Dual Glide butt end you can release the snare wires without having to change the tension setting. This makes Reso head changes fast, easy and uncomplicated. Simply press the quick release button on the side and the buttom piece of the snare strainer comes away with the snare wires attached. SIMPLE & PERFECT.

Recently bought a beautiful Sonor snare and upgraded their standard strainer with the dual glide, I have not experienced anything as smooth as this even with the Dunnett throw offs, it's a work of art

Best ever (strainer end)

Probably the best throw I ever had. Has a long distance in the throw, so if you like the wires very tight, you can still play the snare off-position without any snare buzz. The detachable plates also help a lot during head change. One design flaw though! The screws supplied with the throw have large washers, so 4 holes are too much to use to attach the throw. Use only 2, the washers make it impossible to use 4.
