Sweet vintage sound!

A must for that vintage sound. Works especially well on Precision type PU configurations. Add to that the smooth feel that's easy on fingers and you have a winner!

Also great for fretless basses, especially the ones with non coated fretboards as these don't eat the surface as round wounds do.

Surprisingly these strings have some of the roundwound upper harmonics and you can hear that especially well with fretless basses.

And did I already mention sustain? These strings have ample sustain despite being flatwounds. IF you want the dull thud of a bass sound, you'd probably better of buying the nylon strings. These strings retain the sustain for a very long time and some might feel they take long to "break in". As for me I like the sustain and the clarity of harmonics.

Olen roundwound-mies, mutta joskus on kiva soitella Motown klassikoita perinteisellä saundilla. Muutamia flatwoundeja kokeilleena tämä on ehdottomasti paras setti. Sisäänsoitto ottaa aikaa, muutamassa kuukaudessa kielet alkavat tuottaa hunajaista Motown-saundia. Mexicon Classic 50's precisionissa saundi oli hiukan nasaali, en tiedä johtuiko sointi bassosta vai kielistä. Basso oli iso, pyöreä ja kiinteä. Basson myin eteenpäin, mutta jos joskus vielä tarvitsen flatwoundeja, palaisin melko varmasti tähän settiin.

I like these very much. Talkin nicely. My bass, copy of EB-3, sounds great with these strings. I play with a pick and really get back to seventies . Not too bright. Even my fingers move quicker because of these, I get a feeling that playing is much easier because of the good "slide".

My favorite flatwound string for bass.
I tried many but these ones do it for me.
Thumpy tone with P-bass, you got it.
Put a set on a hollowbody, it nails that vintage tone.
Really happy with these and the best thing: they get better with age!
