Leather a little rough
I bought this because with the strap mounted to the fitted pin on the heel of the violin bass I find that the instrument rolls forward.
This strap definitely helps alleviate this problem as it hangs the bass from a more forward position with a much better balance.
Whilst the strap is extremely well made I shall never use it, simply because the underside of the leather is extremely rough and it would be like wrapping a piece of coarse sandpaper around the body and would cause damage to the finish. Also, the metal parts will rub on the bass at the tail-piece end and cause damage.
So, this strap, whilst very well constructed, for me will be consigned to a cupboard and never used, but it has given me the idea to make my own, using it as a template, but using a much softer leather.

Not the most comfortable but a perfect fit for vintage Höfners.
This is a vintage style Höfner strap that will fit a vintage (or German re-issue) Höfner Violin without the need for an extra strap button at the neck heel.
It'a a very thin strap and not the most comfortable by modern standards. But if you don't want to drill a hole for an additional strap button in your Höfner this is the strap you'll need.
Apart from being a bit thin the quality is top notch.
Of course, some of the cheaper Asian Höfners already have a strap button at the neck heel so there's no need for this strap. If you've got one of those Höfners you will probably be better off with a more comfortable, modern guitar strap.
Highly recommended if you want to keep your Höfner historically correct.

Hofner bass strap
Bought this to go with my Hofner CT Violin bass as I wanted old school looks to go with the old school sound of the bass.
The strap is very comfortable, easily adjustable and looks and feels fantastic, quality of the material is also very good and the strap is very sturdy and secure. Really looks the part on the Violin bass.

Expensive but......
it looks badasss..... but if you really think about it it's really expensive for what it is... yeah but it not only does look badass it feels also so comfortable for a small light weight instrument like the club-bass in my case... yeah sure just a thin strap of leather that much. The point that bass so lignt you can hang it on whatever, this strap is too much..... but again it looks so badass.... your call

Nice vintage look
I got this strap for my Hofner Icon beatles bass, and modified it to be used with the icon bass, not the more expensive ones.
This enhances my playing experience and makes me feel more like Paul McCartney when playing my Beatles bass lines. It looks very great, and gives a vintage feel.
The strap is very open for modifications, if you are creative, but once you do it, it's done, no turning back. I specially like the dog-clip end so I can take on end off when I put my bass in a case or something.
overall, it is a very nice looking, vintage strap, brings back the 60s and the Beatles feel when playing your bass. 5/5 would recommend.

Authentic look and feel
I bought this for my Hofner Violin bass (surprise surprise!) to complete the look and fee of the original. This is a fine strap that sits well and balances the bass just fine. It is a tad tricky to attach in the authentic way...but this is all part of why you would buy this strap.

Authentic, but fiddly...
For that complete "Paul McCartney" look you need one of these. I bought one to go with my entry level Hofner. It does a decent job, but it's a little fiddly (the shoulder pad moves a bit and the hardware doesn't look too durable) but mine's lasted quite well so far.

Great acquisition for the Beatles fans
If you want a bass strap like Paul McCartney has on his Höfner bass, you should buy this one. Natural leather, under-the-neck mounting style, the dog clip so you can clip it to the tailpiece just like Macca does. (By the way, it gets much more comfortable to play the Violin bass if you clip your strap to the tailpiece.
