The braiding of copper is bonded to the core and the surface is polished which assures longevity and resistance to dirt
E and A string: Nylon core wound with copper
D- and G-string: Blank - Nylon
Ideal for jazz musicians and other mainly piz playing bassists, but can also be stroked and slapped

Good pizzi strings.

My first time to use these Gut-A-Like strings. Before Ive used PIrastros Jazzers and kevlar jazz strings.

I tuned this up straight from the box. These strings really need time to settle up and get their length. A string slammed out couple of times from the tailpiece because of the wrong sized felt but I made a bigger one.

Sound is good and even, these are also nice to slap.

These strings feels and sounds good, tried these on better bass and in thomanns own hybrid bass.

Suits for jazzers better than hipsters and rockers!

Play great, sound great, however. The E and A turned green and mingin within a month of use.

Medium quality strings for medium quality price.

the strings are a little rough at first but become confortable as you play along. they keep in tune quite good. The Copper wrapping oxidizes quite fast, just keep them clean. Over all medium quality strings for medium quality price.

what's that smell??

Oh my god... these must be the most toxic smelling strings ever. A chemical, headache-provoking smell that stinks up the whole room as soon as you open the box. It even gave me an asthma attack, and i had to put the bass with the new strings outside on the balcony in order to get rid of this horrible stench. Come on guys, really...this is inadmissible. I played just a few minutes before i couldn't take it anymore. I really hope the smell disappears because if not i will have no other option but to theow them away in a sealed envelope. Pity, because the sound seems ok. The feel of the E and A strings is very sticky, however.
So, whatever is the cause of the horrid smell (any glue there?), i would urgently suggest that Gut-a-like investigate the problem.
The normal string set doesn't smell at all, and neither do the fat blacks. Just these Swingmasters. Hard to judge their sound qualities if you can't play them for more than five minutes...
