Excellent, stable pegs

I use these pegs to tune hurdy gurdy sympathetic strings. They?re compact, stable, look good, well built and are cheap. An inexpensive fitting key is easily available.

I would recommend drilling test holes between 5mm and 5.5mm in a piece of wood and try screwing a peg in to make sure the diameter is correct ? sometimes drills can be a slightly different size to what they say they are!

The product page would benefit from more detailed technical specifications about the product ? how long the threaded part is, where the hole is, the diameter of the hole, the size of the squared part. A technical drawing would be perfect.

5.5mm Zither tuning pins

These pins will be used in a Hammer Dulcimer I am building. Delivered from Germany to England in good time and in stout packing. A high quality polished finish which is very pleasing.
One small niggle - the pins are contained within plastic bags several of which had come undone in transit so the pegs were scattered around in the packing. A more secure bag would be better.
Overall I am well pleased with my purchase - thank you.

Wrong thread orientation

As i am changing old tuning pegs on my Kotamo (monochord, tanpura and koto) instrument i have ordered 43x Gewa Zither Pegs 5.5x40mm and Oscar Schmidt AT Autoharp Tuning Wrench Key size (metric): 4.5 which is perfect fit for Gewa pegs. In first order i have bought 12x Right-hand thread pegs and they are perfect fit.

My second order was same tested 31x Gewa Zither Pegs 5.5x40mm Right-hand thread. After half an hour struggle to tighten the pegs i have realised that thomann team have sent me left hand thread version :(

Be careful people! Damage is already done to the half of the tuning peg holes (which are now loose) in my Koto and now half of the pegs are tuning in opposite direction. WTF how can you "screw" this up??!!

They are hard to find in such a good quality Finnish I’m glad I found them here on Thomann elsewhere they are overprice and cheap quality.
