I have several acoustic guitars , including a Fender semi-acoustic Dreadnought . I like this brand very much and have been playing them a long time , including a Strat . I have an early Dean Dreadnought , twenty years old , which I still enjoy playing , especially nice for finger picking .
I decided to buy another acoustic without pickups without spending a fortune .
Having spent some time reviewing them , Lag ,Taylor etc I opted for the brand I trust and enjoy to play : Fender .
This is a beauty ! All mahogany , dark and grainy , single-ply tortoise pickguard , lovely trimmings and Mother of pearl fretboard inlays with open tuners , cut away and complete with a solid case and a humidifier.
Initially , when I took it out the case , I was surprised how light the guitar was , almost taken aback ! The single ply pickguard was adequate although I'm used to three ply or none at all . It needed to be set up , but only in terms of tuning .
It has a great , clear sound and if you hit it with a pick , it's pretty loud . Nice tones , good mids and the neck makes for easy comfortable playing which all guitar players know is essential for your motivation and inspiration . I use it to play to myself or a small number of friends and for writing songs . Miked up , you can project it loud enough to play at a small gig .
It came well packaged , delivered with speed as always with Thomann - and their prices are the best in Europe , you can't go wrong . Buy stuff as a Bundle and you can get a real bargain : I got two sets of Fender strings..for 1 € instead of almost 12 € !
