For sticks that cost as much as these do, you would expect them to hold up a bit better. I am returning mine under my 30 day money back guarantee as they don't live up to "The Most Futuristic Sticks" that Ahead promise them to be.

Am using these on my practice kit with mesh heads and cymbal mutes and these are my preferred rods to use. They are heavier than wooden ones but on a kit with bouncier mesh heads this is useful, and stick definition is nice and quiet on the cymbals.

For acoustic playing my preference would say they are a bit too heavy feeling, but that's not why I bought them :)
