Buy this cable!
So I have just ordered 100 meters of the stuff to fully replace all of my XLRs
Eventually XLRs get broken, stolen or thrown onto the pile to be re-soldered (but who ever gets round to that?!). With a wedding coming up where I needed to run my full QSC k12 PA with monitors, sub, eqs and two speakers I needed all of my cables in order so it was time to take the plunge.
Because this cable is Highflex it feels amazing and folds really nicely. It is very forgiving to those people who have no idea how to coil a cable properly and doesn't kink up forever.
A lot of XLRs get covered in this dry powder stuff and after coiling up a 100 meteres your hands get dried out. This cable seems to be exempt from that and my hands are only moderately grubby after a gig.
Sound wise they sound great. I swear my pa sounded better but its impossible to tell really. The cable is robust and clean sounding and none of the cables failed the first time I used them.
I decided to go all purple this time because it is a dark colour and who else has purple cables?! I will still be putting some bright orange electrical tape on the ends to make sure I know its mine.
I will also be using these cables in the studio with a variety of Dynamic and Condensor microphones and i prefer these over all of my other cables.
Pros:
Pretty cheap compared to buying pre-made cables

Cons:
Takes a while to solder up
If you want to upgrade your cables or get something that will last a long time then get this stuff. It's half the price of the Van Damme stuff and sounds just as good!

Not bad!
I like the cable, though I've seen better quality ones.
I bought it because of its colour, to be able to recognize fast which source is it connected to, and that it's mine. Not once happened that in rehearshal rooms we got mixed our cables with other bands because they didn't know which one was theirs.
For sound quality they're good, not noisy. The only thing worrying me is the sturdiness. They have no problem for now, I hope it will stay that way for a long time.

Great Product
i love sommer since i remmemer myself. im use mostly with Sommer , and Klotz. i have some Mogami but all of them is the same. all sommer is great value and great quality and can be working perfect for very long time.

Excellent cable
I've been using and making my own variety of cables using Sommer for 20 years now and still use many of my originals (always with Neutrik connectors). This Highflex mic cable has excellent handling and a flexibility that's a pleasure to work with when rolling up the cables. Sound quality is tops and I use these live and in the studio.

Very good quality cable.
This cable is a very high quality and was perfect for my xlr cabling project. The colour is a little paler than pictured, with a matte silicon finish. The shielding is very good with many thin strands of copper and a few strands of string to separate the cables.

Perfect for small studio use
I've bought several Sommer cables since I first built my little studio and they sound great, I've never had one break and they are quite inexpensive!
I don't know how it would sound in bigger studios where the lengths would be much bigger than my 15 meters, but for small spaces they are just great.

Great mic cable
I have just recabled my homestudio with these cables, upgrading from the cheapest ones I could find a couple years ago, and the difference, although of course subtle, is very noticeable.
Improved depth and low end.

Quality Cable
This cable is much better quality than the cheaper cable I've bought in the past. The colours in this range are nicer too, this has a pleasing shade of purple. Easy to work with.

Great cable for studio and stage
The Sommer Cable SC Stage 22 Highflex VT is a solid but simultaneously very flexible microphone cable. Because of its flexibility (un)wrapping is very comfortable without getting any knots. The cable is available in different colors to mark different lengths or purposes. Soldering works fine. It can be used not only in (home) studio situations, but also on stage (bands on tour etc.). Really my favorite cable!

Love me some Sommer Cables!
First class quality, super flexible.
The colors are nice and it certainly helps identify which cables are going where.
