Meinl Woolly Mammoth Cajon Beater

En genaral estoy satisfecho con el producto, en el cajón quizá quede un poco demasiado blando el ataque pero rienencalidad de sonido y más duro seguramente dañaría el cajón.Yo en realidad lo compré para probarlo en un bombo de batería de 18" ,20" , para este uso se queda definitivamente demasiado blando y sin ataque. Pero sin embargo me ha venido muy bién que tenga el mango mas corto que el estándar; Ayuda en
la calidad del sonido poder percutir en el centro del parche y pese a que en general es demasiado blando ,creo que sería válido para usos en momentos extremos. De momento lo estoy usando en un "mesh head" de bombo de mi roland td-50, y con los sensores funciona de marabilla y no daña el pad en absoluto. La fabricación es un poco irregular por el exceso de blandeza. Pero aún así parece resistente. No me gusta una arandela que queda suelta ejerciendo presión sobre la propia cabeza de la maza desde abajo. De momento todo bien pero seguramemte que con el uso acabe emitiendo vibraciones no deseadas. Para su uso en cajón es muy recomendable.👍

The beater feels and looks like quality, and plays like that too.

It's a pity it's so short, because the soft competitors are almost double the price of this one.
But on the other hand, it doesn't matter if this will hit below center: it won't hurt your skin at all, and it's meant to be damped, quiet anyway. I used this during a few sessions and haven't seen wear signs or it being flattened on one side.
They should make this with a longer beater stick!

I bought this beater because of the shorter rod, to be able to hit the centre of an 18" floor tom converted to a bass drum. My pedal does not allow the beater to poke out at the other end, it blocks the rod at the bottom. With this beater at the lowest position it beats the centre of my 18" slightly raised kick-tom and at its highest position it hits the centre of my 22" bass drum. To my surprise, it even worked on the 22" without any internal muffling (and I do let the beater bounce back from the head).

I also tried it on a cajon, it produces a bassier but softer sound compared to my other cajon beater which has a smaller rubber head. It also activates the cajon's snare wires less. The difference is probably due to this beater hitting the cajon lower and making contact with a larger surface.

The feel of the pedal is slightly different with the huge beater head but I imagine the head could be swapped out for a different one if you just need the shorter rod but a different feel or volume.

It was about half the price of other fluffy beaters when I bought it.
