Este Whistle es todo lo contrario al sonido que se obtiene de la tipica flauta de colegio que no han hecho tocar a todos. Tiene un sonido especial que lo hace único, y es debido a su construcción. La aleta que "corta" el viento al soplar es una muesca en el cilindro, nada más, con lo que se obtiene un conido con menos componente tonal y mayor componente de viento o ruido blanco característico del aire chocando con dicho elemento. Con un poco de reverb suena estupendo.
En cuanto a su construcción destacar que no es especialmente grueso, es muy ligero y el taco de madera utilizado se moja bastante al tocar, mejorando el sonido he de decir.
Como único contra, y relacionado con como este whistle produce el sonido, se gasta mucho aire. No lo recomendaría para aprender a tocar pero al mismo tiempo es una buena opción para practicar la respiración. Yo lo uso junto con otro whistle para aprender.
Por esto y en adición al sonido tan meloso y ventoso que tiene, junto con el precio, recomiendo su compra.

I was struck by the quality of this item, having higher priced instruments, I was expecting this to be somewhat weak, and while having a few build imperfections, for this price, I must say I am very pleased to have purchased this. The sound is fresh and organic, and is easily mixed in multi instrument compositions.
A true "must have" for beginners and professionals who are lookimg for a practice instrument at a good price.
After using it for a few months now I can also refer to it's durability, once I dropped a guitar case on it, and it made only a tiny scratch in the finish, no dents at all!
Another good thing I noticed was that some of my recordings with it came out cleaner and richer sounding in both live and studio situations, this is due to, I think, the lack of sound projection you could find in higher priced pieces, wich in my opinion makes the Thinwhistle microphone friendly. You realise that when comparing recordings, thia instrument can be played closee to the microphone, allowing you to capture more organic overtones and also eliminating unwanted reverberation while the notes themselves are more defined and transitions become smoother in the end product because you don't really have to digitally edit it too much, unless of course you want to.
Truly a great buy!

I love Tin Whistles.
They are fine little Instruments, easy to learn to play and must not be very expensive.
The truth is, one of the cheapest are one of the best.
The Clarkes are surley one of them and every collector should have Clarkes

The Clarke Original ?Victorian? Tin whistle in D is in the shape of the first Clarkes (the first tin whistles ever) roled pure tin with a wooden block in the mouthpiece and its unpainted as the real original clarked in the Victorian time.

Don?t worry about the low prize, you will get a real and good instrument. These Tin whistle are no toys and you can make real music on it

strongly recommend this whistle for beginners and advanced players/collectors
or better get 2, one for you and one as a present ;-)
