Bode Velho que ainda vale a pena!
CovilStudio 10.06.2024
The Behringer Bode Freq Shifter 1630 is a modern recreation of the classic Moog/Bode 1630 Frequency Shifter, a device revered for its unique and creative audio processing capabilities. As someone interested in experimental sound manipulation and synthesis, I was intrigued by the possibilities offered by the Bode Freq Shifter 1630, and it certainly didn't disappoint.

First and foremost, the Bode Freq Shifter 1630 excels in its ability to shift the frequencies of audio signals in a unique and musical way. Unlike traditional pitch-shifting effects, which alter the pitch of the entire audio signal, frequency shifters like the 1630 operate on the individual frequency components of the signal, resulting in rich and complex harmonic changes.

One of the standout features of the Bode Freq Shifter 1630 is its versatility. In addition to frequency shifting, it also offers a range of modulation options, including amplitude modulation (AM) and ring modulation (RM), allowing for even more creative sound manipulation. The inclusion of adjustable carrier and modulator frequencies gives you precise control over the resulting sound, making it easy to dial in the perfect effect.

The Bode Freq Shifter 1630 also features a built-in mixer section, which allows you to blend the dry and processed signals to taste. This gives you the flexibility to create subtle, nuanced effects or more extreme, otherworldly sounds, depending on your preferences.

Another advantage of the Bode Freq Shifter 1630 is its robust build quality. Housed in a rugged metal chassis, it feels solid and durable, making it suitable for both studio and live performance use. The intuitive interface and straightforward controls make it easy to dial in the desired effect quickly, without getting bogged down in complex menus or parameters.

Overall, the Behringer Bode Freq Shifter 1630 is a fantastic tool for musicians, producers, and sound designers looking to add unique and creative effects to their sound palette. With its versatile modulation options, intuitive controls, and rugged build quality, it's sure to inspire experimentation and exploration in any musical context.

Use it in addition with a MoogerFooger RingModulator and an old school Boss RPS-10 Micro Rack Series Digital Pitch Shifter / Delay and...
You'll see a complete sound sculping MADNESS breaking loose.

Nothing will be same!

This Ol'Goat clone still kicks some... SsssounD!

M
one of those modules that has a mythical status
Magimick 31.07.2023
one of those modules that has a mythical status, so rare or expensive that only residents of mount olympus could have an opinion or dream of owning, seen in several moog photos, but rarely patched! and none of the umpteen videos on youtube make it sound much different to a ring modulator. but thanks to behringer that has all changed and anyone is free to try ( affordably anyway), i think many will be disappointed, indeed i have already seen a few comments along the lines of "what do i do with it?" my expectations were already low, these legendary modules are often emperors new clothes,so im quite happy. subtlety seems to be key with this module. using it in the feedback loop of a delay device is one of the examples often cited, and this does give an interesting range of evolving sustaining sounds, a bit like a much less noisy korg montron delay...which is a good thing in my book. can also add a nice shimmer to sounds. once youve tried one you start to recognize the effect in old electronic works so it can give a nice retro 50s sound! so yes i like it, im so glad to have been able to try one, i dont think its a game changing device but it is an interesting effect to use now and then and im sure i will find other uses for it....and lets admit it, it just looks cool in a 55 set up!!!

Too exact a replica.
BellvitgeAirForce 13.10.2024
It is such an exact replica of the Moog original that the input and output audio levels are not Eurorack level, they are line level. They have not included an input attenuator, not even on the PCB, so an external attenuator must be used to overcome this.

Great recreation, but they forgot one thing....

Why on earth not make the input handle Eurorack levels?
Nice module, great sound. But you need an external attenuator to not make it sound like shit.
