Received the guitar and it's sister Vntage V6 in great time as always from Thomann. Thought internal packaging for the guitar, from the manufacturer, was flimsy. My last five guitar purchases have been for low price guitars direct from China and their packaging was much better, protection wise than this. Once removed from the packaging the guitar looked good with a nice finsh on the body and neck, other than what seems to be a filled in crack where the fret end meets the neck at the fifth fret. On the rear of the body the ferrules for the string ends were poorly seated especially the sixth string which sits way proud and will have to be lowered. The guitar plugged in sounded good and had a very Tele like sound and feel for a guitar at this price. However, when I eased off the control plate screws, to remove the protective plastic film, the bridge pickup stopped working and on close inspection proved to be a strand of ground wire and a very fine strand of solder bridged across the terminals on the selector switch. Bearing in mind that there is a ticked off inspection card with the guitar saying the body, neck and electrics have all passed, I think the quality control to be poor. Overall I am happy with the guitar but chose this model over a cheaper Chinese copy which, based on my previous purchases, would have been a nice guitar but less expensive and a Harley Benton that also gets great reviews but costs half the price, I wonder if I made the right choice. Good guitar reasonably well made but possibly more expensive than it's actual competition.
