The clip is used for its intended purpose: to attach the cc100 mic into the afterlength of a double bass. It does that. The slits for the strings are a bit narrow for DB strings, and when the rubber ages it may crack there. Wider slits would be preferred.
It does what it's supposed to do, but I find it relatively expensive.
Mounting in an f-hole gives too much direct contact & sensitivity to top resonances.
I bought the T Bone Ovid CC100 for mounting on the double bass. When the bundle, the specific accessories exist for the assembly. The accessories that are provided are easy to attach the strings of the bass so micofoon stays securely in place.
